Bill Belichick blasted as a 'hypocrite' over NFL media U-turn amid Patriots split and romance with 23-year-old girlfriend

Bill Belichick was labelled a hypocrite by a member of the NFL media following his departure from coaching.

As the eight-time Super Bowl winning coach, 72, transitions into a career on screen, he has not had the warmest of welcomes from the media. Belichick's shift into television includes opportunities on Inside the NFL, ESPN's ManningCast, and appearances on The Pat McAfee Show.

In a recent column for Althon Sports, Andrew Perloff of the Maggie and Perloff Show blasted Belichick over his pivot into broadcasting. In his piece, Perloff cited Belichick's relationship with the press during his coaching days.

'Networks have to stop hiring Bill Belichick,' Perloff wrote. 'Someone who openly mocked the media for two decades as head coach of the New England Patriots shouldn't be able to walk right in and get multiple media jobs.

'He never said anything useful as an NFL coach and now he's going to get paid talk? As brilliant as Belichick is, find someone else.'

While he occasionally gave generous answers to the press, Belichick was widely known for having a standoffish approach on the podium.

However, Belichick has joined the side he was once cold toward after his 24-year tenure with the New England Patriots came to an end.

While the former coach remains involved in the aforementioned programs, his title-winning quarterback Tom Brady is slated to become FOX Sports' lead NFL analyst this season.

Brady signed a lucrative $375million, 10-year deal with the network to work alongside Kevin Burkhardt.

Additionally, Belichick has been on the hot seat after his relationship with 23-year-old Jordon Hudson surfaced. The pair met during a flight in 2021 and have dominated headlines since their romance went public, given their sizeable age difference.

While the pair kept their relationship under the radar in the beginning, they were seen together in Croatia and at Brady's Patriots Hall of Fame induction ceremony on June 12.

Belichick and Hudson were recently spotted wearing matching rings on a bike ride in Nantucket for the 4th of July.
