Sandra Bullock admits she's 'too tired' as she opens up about turning 60 during rare appearance one year after partner Bryan Randall's death

Hollywood actress Sandra Bullock delighted fans on Monday morning when she made a surprise television appearance and spoke about turning 60 just one year after the death of her partner, Bryan Randall.

The Speed actress, who celebrated her milestone birthday on July 26, appeared on the Today show after recording a special video message for her good pal and host Hoda Kotb, who marked her own 60th birthday on August 9.

Bullock, who sadly lost her partner, Bryan, to ALS on August 5 last year, admitted that she was feeling 'too tired,' but also described her new decade as being 'pretty damn great' as she spoke directly to the camera from her lavish Los Angeles home.

She began her message: 'Hoda, Hoda, Hoda, Hoda... I had so many brilliant and funny things prepared for you, for this message, that were just gonna slay it, but you know girl, I'm just too tired!

'Tired because I had to make my way up that mountain before you got there so I could check out the terrain and see what things look like and you know just get the feel so I could fill you in.'

Bullock continued: 'And it's weird, because people seem to want us to be afraid of what it might look like when we get there. It turns out it's pretty damn great, it's pretty awesome.'

She then went on to use a particular word several times which was bleeped out: 'And for [muted] like you - can we say [muted] in the morning? Because I know you can say it in the afternoon, right? You can definitely say it at night and on streaming, but [muted] I know you can't say that.'

Kotb and her cohost, Jenna Bush Hager, couldn't stop laughing as Sandra continued: 'But when you get to the top of the mountain where you're getting ready to go, you're allowed to say it because it doesn't matter anymore, everything is amazing because you have made it that way.

'Thank you for being so incredible to so many people. What you do for a living and how you have to shapeshift every single day, how you navigate your kindness, even when that's not what's coming your way, how you are to those you care about and how you keep them safe, and just who you are as a human being.'

She then added: 'We're all pretty lucky to have you, especially your kids. So happy birthday my sweet friend. Thank you for allowing me to be in your circle, I feel very grateful and I have your bar set up, up here, so we can look at the view, it's pretty beautiful, but I need you up here, happy birthday,' before blowing her a kiss.

As it cut back to Kotb live from the Plaza, the mother-of-two commented: 'Wow, that's really too much, it's really too much,' as Bush Hager replied: 'I know, but don't you love what she said about navigating the terrain and how beautiful it looks?'

Kotb then recalled: 'And the reason that I have Haley and Hope is because when I was looking for inspiration of somebody who was a mom at my age, Sandra Bullock popped up and I called her and I said, "Tell me about motherhood," and she said, "It is the best decision I ever made," and from that moment forward, she led the way to these two,' referring to her two daughters, who were in the crowd.

Bullock is mom to her two children, Louis, 14, and Laila, 11, whom she adopted in 2010 and 2015 respectively.

Last month it was reported that the Miss Congeniality actress was 'doing okay' and focusing on her children as she entered a new decade - almost one year on from the death of her partner.

Bullock dated Randall from 2015 until his death aged 57 in August 2023 - with the actress calling him 'the love of my life.'

A source close to Bullock's friend Jennifer Aniston, 55, told People: 'She's doing okay now. Her kids are amazing. She's very happy to be a mom.

'Her friends gave her the support that she needed both during his illness and afterwards. She is grateful for all the love. Everyone helped to lift her up after Bryan passed.'
