It emerged today that Geri Horner has pulled the plug on plans for a new Spice Girls reunion tour - after her feud with bandmate Mel B turned increasingly ugly.
The group had been in discussions about another run of dates and had even made contact with Victoria Beckham about a possible cameo appearance - with the band excited about replicating the success of their last shows.
But insiders say a bitter rift between the pair - who were once so close they engaged in a fleeting romance - has now driven a wedge between the group and Geri has now walked away entirely.
It comes after in April the pair reportedly had a 'frosty' reunion at Victoria's 50th birthday party where they had a tense exchange after Mel claimed in an interview that Geri has lied about her age.

Geri has pulled the plug on plans for a new Spice Girls reunion tour - after her feud with bandmate Mel turned increasingly ugly.
A source told MailOnline: 'Geri has had enough to deal with after all the drama with her husband's relationship with his assistant - it has been a tough enough time - and she's just lost patience with Mel and her little digs and jibes.
'She's walked away and without Geri it's really not going to happen - in the past she's been a driving force in the group, but she doesn't want to deal with Mel at all at the moment let alone share a stage with her.'
Last week saw Mel make fresh jibes at her former friend by wishing her a 'Happy 75th Birthday' online alongside a series of unflattering photographs from their heyday, seemingly a reference to her previous jibes that Geri had lied about her age in the past.
Insiders say there have been many more digs and jibes behind the scenes which have infuriated Geri - who has had a tough six months amid allegations of her Formula One chief husband Christian Horner's inappropriate behaviour with a female assistant.
The source added: 'They've always had a tricky relationship but this has got very messy now and nobody has been able to smooth things over between them - so it's all off again.'
MailOnline has contacted The Spice Girls' representatives for comment. Mel B's representative declined to comment.

'Frosty' reunion at Victoria's 50th birthday
In April Mel B broke her silence after it was reported she and her Spice Girls bandmate Geri had a frosty reunion at Victoria Beckham's birthday bash.
The pair are thought to have had a tense exchange before keeping their distance from one another at the party, after Mel claimed in a recent interview that Geri has lied about her age.
Following the bash, Mel appeared to extend an olive branch, as she shared a group snap with her Spice Girls bandmates on Instagram.
She wrote: 'What an amazing girl power weekend with all my girls, i have soooo much love and respect for you ALL #friendshipneverends.'
Mel and Geri were reunited for the luxurious party held at Oswald's in London and posed together for a group shot with other band members Emma Bunton, Victoria and Mel C - though they were at opposite ends of the line.
But The Sun claimed that Geri, 51, and Mel B, 48, were feeling tense, after Mel claimed that Ginger Spice is not 51-years-old.

Despite travelling the world together in the band's heyday, Scary Spice claimed Geri always kept her passport close to her chest so she 'still doesn't know' how old she is.
And after the interview the pair are said to have kept a distance from each other at Victoria's party over the weekend - before Mel B reportedly tried to offer and olive branch.
A source told the publication: 'Mel tried to smooth things over with Geri at the party but it didn't go as planned. She was laughing it all off but Geri didn't seem interested in hearing what she had to say and wandered off.
'When it came to taking their group picture, Geri kept as far away from Mel as possible which was awkward to watch.
'Geri wanted to be there to celebrate and have a good laugh with everyone, not talk to Mel about the embarrassing things she's said about her.'
