Yellowjackets star Samantha Hanratty reveals she is pregnant and gets emotional in heartwarming clip

Samantha Hanratty is going to be a mother.
The Yellowjackets star, 28 — who we last saw posing with costar Sophie Thatcher at the Emmys — took to Instagram to share that she is expecting her first child with husband Christian DeAnda.
In the video, she flashes a bag full of pregnancy tests to the camera as she vlogs herself going through the process of taking her initial test.
'This is silly,' she said while reading the instructions. 'I should not even be doing this.' The clip then cuts to the blonde beauty emotionally saying, 'It was negative. I said i wasn't gonna get my hopes up, but it said I could still be pregnant and we could take tests next week.'
She appears again on another day and tests again. This time the actress jumped for joy in her bathroom, exclaiming, 'No way,' as she showed the positive test to the camera.

The post was a hit with the Shameless star's 408k followers, racking up hundreds of comments as fans rushed to pen their support for the starlet.
'The most beautiful, amazing, best mama, cannot wait to smush you and baby’s face (and Christian too haha),' one follower wrote.
'You’re going to be the best mom!' a top comment read. Another fan chimed in: 'Oh my goodness!!! So exciting! Congratulations, Sammi!!! That is one lucky baby.'
Hanratty and her husband, Suicide Squad star Christian DeAnda, married in November of 2023 after three years of dating in front of 140 guests, including several of her Yellowjackets co-stars, at Terra Mia Vineyards in Paso Robles, California.
The pair initially met on Bumble during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020.
'I wasn't sure I wanted to have my wedding at a vineyard, but the moment I saw the property, I knew it was the place,' she told The Knot. 'I had three other venues to go view and I canceled them immediately.'
But Samantha and Christian had one request of their guests at the time. She explained: 'I wanted to make it very clear that if you don't believe in love for all, and you don't celebrate love for all, we'd rather you send your best wishes.'

DeAnda said of his wife: 'I love how open she is with me; seen in 2023
She added: 'I'm bisexual and really wanted the people there to be ones who would have supported me no matter who I ended up with.
'A lot of my friends happen to be queer, and I didn't want a situation where anybody feels any way other than loved and respected,' she continued. 'And so I've had quite a few declines.'
The newlyweds met three and a half years ago through the dating app Bumble and decided to go for a hike on their socially distanced first date.
'The conversation was easy,' she told The Knot. 'We laughed a lot.'
DeAnda agreed with his wife, saying: 'I love how open she is with me — we talk about anything on the face of the earth. That makes me feel comfortable and lets me know that there is no off-limits topic between us. We also have a lot of similar interests.'
