Julianne Hough exuded summer elegance as she exited the ABC studios in New York City on Tuesday.

The multi-hyphenate, 36, who has launched her new Kinrgy dance studio, showcased her dancer's body in a sheer gold and bronze shirt over a matching slip dress with  neutral toned pumps and a small beige purse.

The muted ensemble was decidedly different than the bright yellow outfit she wore on Good Morning America, where she was promoting her new book Everything We Never Knew.

The Dancing With The Stars co-host also named her dream dance partner for the show.

'I don't know if there are rumblings about this, but … one of the Kelce brothers would be amazing. I mean, Jason's not playing, right?' she teased, referencing Jason Kelce, the Super Bowl champion and former Philadelphia Eagles center.

His brother is Travis Kelce, who dates Taylor Swift

Hough also mentioned Thor actor Chris Hemsworth, who previously competed on the Australian version of Dancing with the Stars.

Dancing with the Stars debuts September 17 on ABC.

She also talked her book.

Hough's debut novel, co-written with Ellen Goodlett, is 'about a woman who seemingly has everything together, perfect life, perfect husband, perfect marriage, perfect job,' she explained.

The main character, Lexi Cole suddenly 'has these supernatural experiences that threaten the relationships around her,' the author said.

'She goes on this healing journey thinking she's going to heal other people, but of course, you can't heal anybody else... unless you go and heal yourself first.'

When asked about possible contestants she suggested 'one of the Kelce brothers... I mean Jason is not playing, right?' before quickly declaring, 'I'm the same as everybody else. I never know who's on the show until we all find out' (pictured in Stateline, Nevada in July)

When asked about the dedication to the 'young Julianne who did what she needed to do in order to survive and protect herself to get to the place where she is today, Hough, who was brought up in the Mormon church and came out as bisexual in 2019, replied, 'This book is also about trusting yourself.

'I think we get so inundated with noise and fitting in and the sense of not belonging and so we shift and adapt ourselves to fit in, and I think trusting yourself and going within, is what this is all about and that's definitely what I experienced as far as dedicating this to my younger self.'

In an interviews promoting the book on the Armchair Expert podcast with Dax Shepherd, the Footloose actress, who formerly dated Ryan Seacrest and was married to NHL player Brooks Laich, said her battle to fit in in Hollywood had created an 'addiction loop,' which went on for about 12 years.

'When I started the movies, I ended up figuring this out a few years ago. But my addictive loop, Nicorette gum was part of it, alcohol was part of it, diet pills was a part of it and online shopping. The loop.'

Instead of feeling shame when she realized what she was doing, Hough said she felt the 'biggest sense of relief, not shame.'

In addition to writing the book, the Emmy winner has produced several songs to accompany the heroine's journey.

'I want this to be a really immersive experience for people, and I wrote music for it, she explained. 'Lexi goes through each lesson, and every lesson that she goes through of healing, it has to do with the elements, earth, fire, water and air.

Fans can use a QR code on the back of the book to take a quiz to discover their own 'elemental makeup.'

'I'm a storyteller,' the first-time author explained. 'I've been a storyteller my whole life, whether it's through my body, whether it's through dancing, through singing, and through acting, and finally now, thorough writing.'
