She shared the work she had been doing alongside her close friend Bart Edwards with her Instagram followers with a post on Monday.

The Mamma Mia! actress shared a series of snaps of her exploring the country, driving in a Jeep through parks and looking out across the vast mountain ranges.

In one picture, Lily perched on the edge of a green 4x4 which was branded with a Loisaba Conservancy as she took a break.

Lily was dressed in cream trousers and a grey vest, her brown hair was half hidden by a cap as she smiled for the camera.

In another photo the actress seemed relaxed as she looked out over the mountains while sitting in the shade.

The ambassador made sure to sprinkle some pictures and videos of elephants throughout her Instagram post to draw attention to her cause.

She has been appointed as the latest Global Supporter of wildlife conservation charity, Space For Giants and was joined by Witcher actor Bart Edwards for the trip.

In her latest post she wrote: 'I am proud to support @spaceforgiants. Protect their Pathways’ Campaign this World Elephant Day.

'During my time with the SFG team, I learned how many threats elephants face from habitat loss to that forces them to compete for resources and the land they call home. Without urgent protection, we risk losing them forever.

'Your support - no matter how big or small - can make a real difference in protecting these incredible creatures. Link in my bio. Thank you so much x'

The actress' social media post comes after she updated her fans last week on her Kenyan travels.

Lily gave an insight into her trip as she shared photos enjoying a warm drink at the top of a mountain and wrote in her diary.

She looked fresh-faced as she nestled into a Kenya-print chair which overlooked the vast and beautiful landscape.

Lily said at the time: 'I am truly honoured to be a Space For Giants Global Supporter and help to achieve their goals to protect Africa's remaining natural ecosystems and populations of large wild animals they contain, and the people who depend on the land.'

Lily continued: 'Earlier this year, I had the privilege of visiting some of the critical wild refuges that have been restored and protected by Space for Giants in Kenya.

'With more than 90% of Africa's 8,400 protected landscapes without funding and many natural ecosystems without any protection at all in the face of huge human pressures, wild animals such as elephants, rhinos and big cats are in huge trouble.

'The work that Space for Giants does is, therefore, more important than ever.'

Space for Giants' CEO and Founder Dr. Max Graham said: 'We are hugely grateful to Lily for taking up this critical role to support us and our frontline teams to preserve Africa’s last remaining natural ecosystems ad the large wild animals they hold.'

'Space For Giants, with its unwavering commitment to protecting Africa's natural heritage over 10 African countries, welcomes Lily as a valuable addition to its global conservation efforts.'

One of the Space For Giants projects Lily encountered during her visit to Kenya was the reintroduction of 21 eastern black rhinos back into Loisaba Conservancy.

The rhinos had previously been on the brink of extinction due to poaching for over half a century.

Lily reflected: 'Without Space For Giants' tireless work on the ground every day, our children would only see these incredible animals in books.'

The announcement comes as Lily continues to film American biopic drama Swiped.

Swiped tells the story of Whitney Wolfe Herd who was forced to leave the most popular dating app in the world, Tinder, after being sexually harassed by a colleague.

A co-founder of Tinder, just months after Whitney, 35, left the company, she co-founded Bumble, popular because of its women-first approach, which is the currently the second-most used dating app in the world.

Swiped also stars Jackson White, Dan Stevens, Ben Schnetzer, and Bodies Bodies Bodies' Myha'la Herrold.

The drama is directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg who also directed Valley Girl and an episode of Mindy Kaling comedy The Mindy Project.

Lily is among the producers of Swiped which will be distributed by 20th Century Studios to American streaming service Hulu.

Swiped will be released sometime in 2025, and its principal photography began on May 15.

The film was announced in March and the script was written by director Rachel and Bill Parker and Kim Caramele. Swiped's production company is Ethea Entertainment.

Lily currently has two films in post-production: comedy-mystery Greedy People starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and EastEnders Himesh Patel and thriller Relay with Riz Ahmed and Sam Worthington.
