Kim Kardashian signs deal with Disney's 20th Television to develop scripted shows - and her first series is with pal La La Anthony

Kim Kardashian has signed a first-look deal with Disney's 20th Television to develop scripted shows.

The reality TV veteran, 43, signed up after she starred in the most recent season of FX's American Horror Story and shot the forthcoming Hulu legal drama All's Fair, both of which are produced by the entertainment giant and 58-year-old writer-director Ryan Murphy.

As part of her first-look deal, the mother-of-four will be teaming up with her friend La La Anthony, 42, and Black-ish creator Kenya Barris, 50.

The show will be based on La La's best-selling book The Love Playbook: Rules for Love, Sex and Happiness.

The series, which Deadline says is already under development, is called Group Chat.

'I had a front row seat to working with the exceptional team at 20th Television during American Horror Story: Delicate.

'I'm so excited to dive into developing my first wave of television projects with the team led by Karey Burke and Eric Schrier, and to continue working alongside Craig Erwich and his entire group at Hulu and Disney.'

Disney Television Group president Craig and 20th TV boss Karey added: 'Kim is a multi-hyphenate in every sense of the word, who has her finger on the pulse of the zeitgeist while simultaneously helping to define it.

'Her success in television with our teams – from The Kardashians to American Horror Story: Delicate – coupled with her ability to capture the imaginations of millions, puts her in the unique position to develop and produce stories that will undoubtedly pierce the culture.'

Meanwhile, Kim's ex Kanye West's Sunday Service gospel choir has reportedly been stripped of its charity status.

The 47-year-old Ye rapper, who is facing lawsuits from former staff and was infamously dumped from a string of big-brand deals over his anti-Semitic outbursts, has now been hit with the ruling after failing to file tax returns for the group for three years.

According to the IRS website, the gospel group's tax exemption status was revoked on May 15.

The reason was 'for not filing a Form 990-series return or notice for three consecutive years,' The US Sun has reported.

Sunday Service was formed by West in 2019.

DailyMail.com has reached out to his representative for comment.

It was initially given exemption from federal income tax as it was listed as what is known as a 501(c)(3) organization.

They are classified as 'religious, educational, charitable, scientific, literary, testing for public safety, fostering national or international amateur sports competition, or prevention of cruelty to children or animals organizations'.

As of August 12, the revocation of the charity status was still current.

When Kanye first kicked off the Sunday Service, the gospel choir performed with the Grammy winner every weekend.

Their first public performance came at the Coachella festival in 2019, and they have collaborated with Texas-based Pastor Joel Osteen - who hosted Kanye at the Lakewood Church, Houston - in November that year.

Tickets for the event were free, but holders resold them online for up to $500.

Kanye has faced legal issues with some of his Sunday Service members and staff – who filed class action lawsuits against the rapper in 2020 for alleged mistreatment.

At the time, more than 500 performers and around 300 crew members claimed the performer-turned fashion designer had violated California work laws by underpaying them and denying them food and restroom breaks.

Among them was Sunday Service performer Michael Pearson who alleged he was paid a flat day rate of $250 and was not permitted breaks.

He also claimed performers stood all day or sat on the floor and walked home when transport was not provided.

It was reported in June Kanye settled with the hundreds of Sunday Service performers and staff for $1.35 million, but they were seeking more than $10.5 million in damages.
