Romeo Beckham teases his famous dad David after beating him at game of padel with Argentinian tennis star Diego Schwartzman

David Beckham may be a legendary football player, but his son Romeo managed to beat him at a game of padel.

Romeo, 21, took to Instagram on Wednesday to rub in his victory, sharing a snap of a defeated David laughing in the background.

The Brentwood FC forward held his hand up in an L to signify his dad was a 'loser' as David, 49, wearing an orange tank top and white Adidas shorts, shook his head and chuckled.

The pair took on Argentinian tennis star Deigo Schwartzman for the game of padel in the sunshine.

Padel is a racket sport, similar to tennis played in pairs on small, enclosed courts  and first popularised in Mexico in the 1960s.

The intense sport was no doubt ideal for the tennis ace who went head to head with David and Romeo.

The trio took to their Instagram to share the results of the gruelling matches.

Gloating over his victory, David and Victoria Beckham's second son wrote: 'Don't think there's a better feeling than beating your dad' with a strong arm and a laughing emoji while tagging his footballer father.

But the former England player didn't seem to take his loss too badly as he re-posted Romeo's picture, adding his own caption: 'Had to let you win one game at least'.

David also posted another snap of the sporty trio outside the padel court.

Over the photo he wrote: 'Fun Padel game against @dieschwartzman & @romeobeckham

'Dad WON sorry guys England Win'.

In the photo, David was grinning as he sported a green Adidas tank top and a white cap while Romeo peeked over his shoulder.

The Beckhams are a notoriously competitive family and regularly document their pranks and contests.

Back in 2022, Victoria and David went head-to-head in gingerbread house making competition with their daughter Harper.

The Spice Girl, 50, and the former footballer got into the Christmas spirit with the fun festive task, as they battled it out in the kitchen.

Sharing a video to her Instagram Story, Victoria admitted they are a very 'competitive family,' but joked for fans to 'expect the worst.'

Speaking to the camera, she explained: 'Today we are making gingerbread house's, me David and Harper, we are not good in the kitchen.

Victoria showed off David's progress as he opened packets of chocolate and polished off some sweets, with the treats laid all over the table.

'Mine's simple, simplicity wins, every time,' the sportsman explained.

Victoria added: 'I am very confident that mine will be better than David's but Harper's will be better that both of ours, I'm not even quietly confident, I am very confident.'

She then showed off the final products, leaving the decision up to her followers, with David's house looking rather plain next to the others.

The former Spice Girl was joined by her husband David, children Romeo and Harper and a friend as they attempted their version of the 'Just Give Me My Money' viral social media trend.

The TikTok performance sees a group take it in turn to enthusiastically step forward and exclaim: 'give me my money.'

After each person delivers it the others then congratulate them with a round of applause and whooping.

However, after the last person delivers the line, the others purposefully remain silent and exchange awkward glances, and in this case Victoria was the one left in the dark.

Apologising to his mum in the caption, Romeo wrote: 'Sorry mum' with a series of laughing emoji faces.
