Christina Aguilera reveals her true feelings about THAT Madonna and Britney Spears kiss at 2003 VMAs

It's been 21 years since she went down in history after Madonna kissed both her and Britney Spears on stage at the 2003 VMAs.

Now Christina Aguilera has shared her true feelings about the iconic kiss that still gets people talking.

'Love a good makeout moment,' she told Glamour. 'I love a theme, I love a concept. I love a specific character to get into.'

'You know, Madonna playing the the role of the groom. It was such a cool…like, wow—we're up here with Madonna and we're part of this huge moment. It was really fun,' she said.

'The energy leading up to it, the rehearsals, everything. It was pretty magical.'

The unforgettable kiss occurred as the trio performed Like A Virgin and Hollywood, with Madonna first smooching Britney before locking lips with Christina.

Christina reflected on the smooch as part of her cover interview for the August edition of Glamour magazine.

She also opened up about how she was body shamed throughout her career.

Speaking about her early years in the music industry, Christina revealed that music bosses were unhappy when she gained weight in her 20s - and said they preferred her as a 'skinny teenager'.

'When you're a teenager, you have a very different body than when you're in your 20s,' Christina said in the cover interview. 'I started to fill out, and then that was unacceptable because it was like, 'Oh, she's getting thicker.'

'Then I had industry people say: 'They liked your body and how you were as a skinny teenager'.'

For her cover shoot, Christina sported an array of sensational looks - including a racy black catsuit with cut-outs and beads.

In another snap, Christina showed off her stunning beauty in a headshot as she wore a silver turtle neck top.

The star was also pictured in a white minidress with a huge cape as she frolicked on the beach, while in another she donned a fully-sequined black beachwear co-ord.

The star's weight has fluctuated over the years, with her recently sparking rumours of Ozempic use after debuting a 50lb weight loss.

She previously said she 'hated being super skinny' and had started embracing and 'loving my new curves', according to Health.

Christina's career started out when she competed on Star Search, before being selected for The All-New Mickey Mouse Club.

After hanging up her mouse ears in 1996, Christina recorded the theme tune for Disney movie Mulan which helped propel her to fame with her self-titled debut album the following year.

For the live-action remake of Mulan in 2020, Christina released the new song Loyal Brave True and a re-recording of Reflection.

The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, with help from her hit singles Genie in a Bottle and What a Girl Wants.

But the pressure to portray a clean cut look all the time was leaving her burnt out, and determined to reclaim her sexuality and break norms she later carved out a decidedly raunchier brand of pop than her peers.

Christina raised eyebrows with racy performances in music videos for songs like Can't Hold Us Down and Dirrty - the latter of which has become an iconic fancy dress costume.

She released two more albums before achieving critical acclaim once again with her fourth record, Stripped, which includes singles Dirrty, Beautiful, Fighter, Can't Hold Us Down and The Voice Within.

In 2007, she was announced by Forbes as one of the richest women in entertainment with a net worth of $60 million (£46 million) - now estimated as more than two times that amount.
