David Arquette has admitted he's fallen off the wagon.

The star sought treatment for alcohol abuse in January 2011 following his separation from then-wife Courteney Cox as he struggled to cope with the emotional stress.

But it seems his willpower has waned, and the 41-year-old has returned to the bottle.

As first reported by RadarOnline, in  a candid chat with longtime friend Howard Stern in an interview that aired Monday on The Howard Stern Show, the actor admitted to drinking and occasional
drug use.

'I’m drinking again... I’m a drinker, I drink a lot,' he shared, adding that alcohol isn't his only vice. 'Yeah, I’ll smoke a little weed.'

Revealing that he began drinking again after feeling 'like I wasn’t being that true to myself', the Scream star called himself a 'wild man', admitting, 'I do get out of control.'

Though he insists, 'I try to keep a cap on it.'

He told Stern he was hesitant to reveal his relapse due to the negativity he's faced surrounding his addiction issues.

Fortunately, the father-of-one ensures he never gets behind the wheel drunk, enlisting drivers to get him home after a night on the booze.

Stern cautioned the nightclub owner that being in a club environment is not in his best interest and likely caused his slip, voicing his concern for his health and wellbeing.

'I’m worried about you, only because I know you got a problem with alcohol,' he said.

'Whatever I do, I’m gonna do; I’m gonna go through this journey and figure out my life,' David countered. 'I’m a responsible person, I have my daughter three days a week... I’m incredibly responsible. I’m living my life and I’m trying not to hurt people.'

Having been in a relationship with ET Online and The Insider entertainment reporter Christina McLarty since 2011, he revealed that his girlfriend is supportive of him and his lifestyle choices.

'My girlfriend’s cool, she supports me,' he told Stern. 'She’s cool.'

The troubled actor was seen attending the Bobby Long concert at the Troubadour in West Hollywood on Friday with his lady love.

Dressed in a colourful camouflage ensemble, the star looked dishevelled and was sweating through his red T-shirt as he giggled uncontrollably.

Pretty brunette Christina held onto her partner's hand as they made their way through the crowd gathered outside the venue, dressed in jeans, strappy stilettos and a grey singlet top that revealed a black lace bra underneath.

'Everybody's getting along,' David told Howard of the dynamic between his current girlfriend and his  ex-wife, whom he officially divorced in May this year after filing papers in June 2012.

David and 49-year-old Courteney, who married in 1999 after meeting on the set of Scream, have long had an amicable relationship and share custody of nine-year-old daughter Coco.

Meanwhile, when quizzed by the shock jock about his relapse in sobriety reportedly being the reason he was let go from new film Something About Her, David insisted that the parting was mutual.

'The director wasn’t happy with [my performance] and he has his own vision for it, so I get it,' he said.

While he may be fine when it comes to handling professional criticism, the same can't be said when it comes to his personal life.

The star revealed he has deleted all his social media sites because 'people were being too mean'.

'I think everyone's on their own journey. I'm tired of everyone judging others,' he told Stern, adding that he's in therapy. 'I got my own problems, yes, and I will sort them out.'
