Olivia Attwood insists women should 'stop pretending they can have it all' as she reveals she is putting her career first over starting a family

Olivia Attwood has insisted women can't 'have it all' as she revealed she is putting her career over starting a family.

The Love Island star-turned-documentary maker, 33, married her long-term love Bradley Dack in June 2023.

In an empowering interview with New! magazine, Olivia explained how women are dealt an impossible hand.

She said: 'I think we still try and pretend that we can do everything, whereas something has to give at some point. And, right now, I'm just very career-focused.'

Olivia added of her husband, 30: '[Bradley] is obviously really keen [to have children]. It's a lot simpler for the male involved, right? So, if I were him, I'd want kids, too.'

She continued: 'I think society minimises the sacrifice women make to carry children and give birth to them. Especially if you're career-driven and you're independent and you live your life in a certain way.'

Olivia also expressed similar sentiments at the start of August on her podcast So Wrong It’s Right.

The star, who is preparing to host an explosive new ITV reality show, said she doesn't want to take time off work to have a baby.

Olivia said of having children: 'I wouldn't say it's a bone of contention - I know Brad would be an amazing Dad and balance out the type A f***ing nightmare Dance Mom that I'm probably going to be.

'[But] I'm going to sacrifice my body, mental health, my house and I don't want to take any time off work because my ambitious personality is so… I don't want a day off to actually have the baby. I'm a monster!'

'But also we're not getting any younger and we do want a family. Brad wants to have a baby tomorrow and I'm thinking of all the what ifs.

'I feel like if it happened I'd be happy, people have this misconception that I hate children but that's not true at all - I wouldn't mind owning one myself one day! - but I'm just scared.'

Olivia told MailOnline in 2023 she plans to film the birth of her first child for her reality TV show – but admits she's too 'obsessed' with her career to have a baby right now.

She would like to share the intimate moment with her loyal fanbase after capturing her wedding for Olivia Marries Her Match.

In the exclusive interview, Olivia explained being a newlywed and in her early 30s often raises the question as to whether she will start a family with husband Bradley.

Following the success of her documentary series Getting Filthy Rich and third instalment of her ITVBe show, Olivia says she's yet to wake up thinking of babies but if she does fall pregnant in the future, she will film her labour for TV.

She said: 'The idea of filming my birth is scary but yes in some capacity it would be natural to share that, and I'd want to. I think that would be fun and the viewers would have grown up with me and to see me making life would be really cool.'

Olivia continued: 'I know a lot of women don't like being asked about children and I understand that so I can't speak for other people.

'But for me personally I don't mind being asked because when you share so much of your life, and I let people ask me everything so it would be weird for me to then say, "you can't ask me that."

'I am in my 30s and it does get jarring to be asked that question again and again as a woman, but I understand why people do.

'For me, I am so obsessed with my career right now and so obsessed with Brad that I don't wake up thinking about kids, but I know that might change and I will want them someday.'
