Fantasy Impact: Prior to his release, Thomas was dealing with a hamstring injury that caused him to miss practice. Thomas will likely look to sign with another team and provide a veteran presence, but he won't be much more than a waiver wire pick-up in case of emergencies.

Fantasy Impact: After his sophomore season breakout in 2018 with the Steelers, Smith-Schuster faded into an unreliable fantasy asset, finishing as the WR66 in half-ppr or worse overall in three of the last five seasons. Smith-Schuster is still only 27 years old and will likely find another landing spot. However, due to his inconsistency week to week and year to year, Smith-Schuster will likely not be fantasy relevant.

Fantasy Impact: This move comes after Sterns recently signed with Carolina.

Fantasy Impact: The twin brother of Khalil Davis on the Texans, Carlos played for the Birmingham Stallions. He'll add depth to the defensive line for the Bengals.


Pete Werner signed a three-year contract extension worth over $25 million with the Saints. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: The deal includes $17.5 million guaranteed. Werner is coming off a season last year where he recorded a career-high 93 tackles with an interception.


Nick Foles announces retirement

Fantasy Impact: Foles most recently played for the Colts during the 2022 season. He helped lead the Eagles to a Super Bowl win over the Patriots in the 2017 season after Carson Wentz tore his ACL late in the regular season that year. He was also named Super Bowl MVP that year. Foles finishes his career having thrown for over 14,000 yards and 82 touchdowns.

Fantasy Impact: Meadors is dealing with a hamstring injury that he suffered in practice earlier this week. He was on the Steelers' practice squad last season.


The Pittsburgh Steelers signed S Jalen Elliott. (Source: Brooke Pryor on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Elliott was on the practice squad with the Steelers last season before he was released. He'll compete in training camp to earn a depth role in the secondary with Pittsburgh.

Fantasy Impact: Philadelphia claimed Armani Rodgers as the corresponding move. Davis will look to land another opportunity in training camp to compete for a depth role.

Fantasy Impact: Murray signed a reserve/future contract in January with Pittsburgh. If he clears waivers, he'll revert back to IR with the Steelers.

Fantasy Impact: Lawson also worked out for the Cowboys to open August. He spent the past three seasons with the Jets.

Fantasy Impact: Fleming appeared in six games with one start last season with the Broncos. He would add depth to the offensive line for Cleveland if he lands a deal.

Fantasy Impact: Ford has played with the Packers the past two seasons where he has recorded five interceptions. He will add depth to the secondary wherever he lands.

Fantasy Impact: Walker had a successful workout with San Francisco on Wednesday. He played with the Lions last season in his return from a torn Achilles. He'll help add depth to the secondary for San Francisco.

Fantasy Impact: Kirklin has spent time with the Cardinals and Saints since entering the league as an undrafted free agent. He'll compete for a depth role in the 49ers wide receiver room.

Fantasy Impact: Harris had signed with San Francisco in November last year. He'll look to land another opportunity with a different team in training camp.

Fantasy Impact: Owens signed with San Francisco as an undrafted free agent this offseason. He has a fracture in his hand that is expected to sideline him the next 5-7 weeks.

Fantasy Impact: Lamb continues to hold out as he seeks a contract extension with Dallas. This remains a situation to monitor in camp.

Fantasy Impact: Perez adds to the quarterback room for the Chargers with Justin Herbert banged up. Perez led the UFL in passing yards (2,309), completions (225), and passing touchdowns (18).


TE Armani Rogers was claimed off of waivers by the Philadelphia Eagles. He was just released by the Washington Commanders on Tuesday. (Source: Aaron Wilson on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: The 26-year-old TE will get another crack at a roster spot, this time on another NFC East team. Rogers missed all of 2023 due to a torn Achilles.
