Liz Denton runs a pet rescue, particularly for "unadoptable" pets. She goes to pick up a pomeranian from an old man who will be moving to an assisted care facility, but her rival is also there. Shortly thereafter, the man is murdered and her son is implicated.
This followed a predictable cozy mystery schema but it was quick and fun. And I have the sequel so I'll read that soon enough, too....more
