As always, the build-up and tension was so so good and I didn't look up from the pages for a couple of hours. I can't resist a good marriage of convenience and a splash of a found family made this one perfection.

A quirky fmc is always fun, but Sienna was just annoying with her whole double personality thing.
Marriage of convenience is usually a fun read, but this one is a bit different than the usual trope - There was no hatred or enemies-to-lovers vibe in the slightest. It was a bit of insta-love and then denial of feelings for the majority of the book. Overall, it was just alright....more

This one wasn't my absolute favourite, but I still enjoyed it. Something about Nero just rubbed me the wrong way and I just didn't love his character. KING on the other hand, LOVE. I love age-gap romance books, but making her 18 would've fixed all my problems. He and his friends kept referring to her as a child and I was just weirded out.
It gets worse. He has an unconscious sex kink. Basically, he likes to f*ck her while she's asleep or unconscious... Immediatly no. The book even started to redeem itself a bit, but then this came up in the last couple of chapters and I couldn't do it. Fucking you while you're unconscious is my favourite thing to do UM WHAT...?
If you can get past those two things, then you might actually enjoy the book. I didn't hate it, but it is far from one of my favourites. ...more

This was 10000% unnecessary and added absolutely nothing to the plot. It was predictable and we already hated the character who did it... so what gives? 3.5. The aftermath of the assault was poorly executed and it just didn't feel right reading it. 3. Insta-love. Don't get me wrong here, I LOVE insta-love sometimes, but this was just painful to read. They just had zero chemistry together. 4. The ending. This book got slightly interesting near the end, but then everything happened so quickly and bang CLIFFHANGER.

I felt like the beginning was so freaking fast and it slowed down, but so much stuff was still happening. The ending was bittersweet in my opinion. Long story short, this book was not what I expected.
Nonetheless, I will be starting the Kingmakers series because although this book wasn't my favourite, I loved the series overall <3...more
