Halfway through my second year in this program and I can say, it has been rewarding and enlightening. If you’re interested in a Ph.D. In Global Leadership, you should look at this program!

When you spend all your time behind your desk it's impossible to be a good business leader. There's only so much you can learn from the confines of your office. It's a big world out there, and when leaders insulate themselves from it they stop learning. That turns them into stale, stubborn and frankly irrelevant people who are doing a huge disservice to themselves, their companies and their customers. So given the option of staying behind my desk VS getting out there, I'll always pick the latter. Try to spend at least 50% of your time - Getting out there in the marketplace, - Talking to customers, - Building relationships, - Staying active, - And attending industry conferences, - Leadership summits, - And new skills building workshops. Because that's the only way you are going to stay relevant today.

Reflect critically on examples where your actions have demonstrated these traits. ✔ Reach out to others for advice. There’s so much to learn from the application process even if you’re not successful, so don’t be afraid to give it a go! It provides a valuable opportunity to reflect on your career direction and what else you might like to pursue within or alongside your studies. The process of obtaining references can also give you insight into what others think are your strengths. 

What good are new concepts if you aren't given an opportunity to apply them? Most leadership programs take a high level approach to their curriculum. Unfortunately, this does not prepare you for tackling the very real problems at your organization! 👏 DA Leadership Academy participants have an opportunity to make real impact in their organization and community through customized projects throughout the duration of the program.
