It's the perfect time to look at 2025 Super Bowl odds, as the NFL regular season draws near.
After winning the title last year, Patrick Mahomes' Chiefs remain the favorites in Super Bowl odds again this season. The Chiefs are neck-and-neck with the 49ers, who won the NFC last season. But maybe we'll get some new teams in the big game this year?
Here's a complete breakdown of early 2025 Super Bowl odds for you to wager on:
Who Is Favored To Win Super Bowl 59?
The Chiefs and 49ers remain in the top spots for Super Bowl 59 odds, but there are some other teams moving up behind them. With a healthy Aaron Rodgers, hype is building for the Jets this year:

San Francisco 49ers | +650 |
Detroit Lions | +1000 |
Houston Texans | +1000 |
Baltimore Ravens | +1100 |
Green Bay Packers | +1200 |
Philadelphia Eagles | +1200 |
Cincinnati Bengals | +1300 |
Buffalo Bills | +1500 |

Super Bowl Odds Movement
A variety of things can cause Super Bowl odds movement, including injuries, team performance, or transactions. If you look at 2025 Super Bowl odds as the season nears, it's clear bookmakers expect some significant change in the NFL landscape this year. Here are the biggest movers:
Riser: New York Jets
The Jets opened the offseason at +4000 to win the title, now they've quietly climbed the Super Bowl odds up to +1800.
New York football fans do this every year, talking themselves into a championship team in July and August. But, maybe this year’s team is actually different?
By yards against per game, the Jets had the second-best defense in football last year, with Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams staying elite and young guys like Jermaine Johnson stepping up. But, the offense was a real issue. Passing the QB play from Zach Wilson to Trevor Semien to Tim Boyle (after Aaron Rodgers went down), things got ugly.
But, with a reshaped offensive line and a healthy Rodgers, I've got hope here. If the Jets can be even average on offense, this is a playoff team. Any better and they're a legit Super Bowl contender.
Faller: Minnesota Vikings
There's just no reason to be excited about the Minnesota Vikings this year. Every other team in the NFC North is on the up — Green Bay, Detroit, and Chicago are all playoff candidates this season. But the Vikings have no hope.
After losing QB Kirk Cousins and DE Danielle Hunter in the offseason, I don't see much upside in the Vikings, and the books agree. The Vikings opened the offseason at +4000 in Super Bowl odds (tied for 16th) and now they're downgraded to +8000 (23rd).
The big problem here is the quarterback and an overall lack of talent. It looks like the Vikings plan to enter the 2024-25 season with Sam Darnold or JJ McCarthy as QB1, I can guarantee you that's going to be a problem. This roster isn't good enough to get by with sub-par QB play.
Super Bowl 2025 Odds Best Bet: Eagles
The Eagles were a disaster down the stretch last year, but I really like what they did this offseason.
For starters, they brought a bevy of new coaches, including DC Vic Fangio and OC Kellen Moore. Those two new coordinators alone should help get Philly back on track.
The Eagles' moves in free agency should help, too. The Saquon Barkley signing will get all the headlines, but bringing in DE Bryce Huff and depth LB Zack Baun will help elevate the defense, once again. Also, the Eagles seem to kill the NFL Draft every year, and this year's selection show didn't seem much different with headliners like Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell.
This is a team that everybody knows has the talent to compete for a Super Bowl. With new coaches and some minor roster tweaks, I think they're back there for 2025.
Super Bowl 2025 Value Bet: Jaguars
I was all over the Jaguars last year and, frankly, they let me down. But, I'm talking myself back in on Jacksonville given where they are in the odds right now. I liked the offseason pickups of WR Gabe Davis and the additions on the defensive line.
But, any Jags bet is really buying into the upside of Trevor Lawrence. Jacksonville is banking on some more growth in Lawrence after giving him a long-term contract, and I think there are a few more strides for the young QB, too.
Exact Super Bowl Matchup Odds
We've finally got Super Bowl 59 exact matchup odds out, and the top teams are exactly where you think they'd be. If I'm looking for some value off the board, I don't hate a Ravens vs Eagles Super Bowl bet at +4500.
Teams | Odds |
---|---|
Chiefs vs 49ers | +1300 |
Ravens vs 49ers | +1900 |
Chiefs vs Lions | +2500 |
Bengals vs 49ers | +2800 |
Bills vs 49ers | +2800 |
Chiefs vs Eagles | +3000 |
Chiefs vs Cowboys | +3000 |
Texans vs 49ers | +3000 |

Making A Betting Strategy For Super Bowl 59
Crafting a winning Super Bowl betting strategy begins long before the first kickoff of the regular season. Assessing offseason changes, coaching adjustments, and previous performances are crucial factors.
You're likely to get the best betting value on a team if you place a bet before the season, but there are times in the regular season and even playoffs when you can still place a smart bet. Keep an eye on the odds, as they fluctuate throughout the year due to injuries, trades, and team performance. Acting swiftly when you spot favorable odds ensures maximizing potential winnings, as odds can shift dramatically over time at NFL sportsbooks.
The general key to crafting a betting strategy for Super Bowl odds is comparing a team's likelihood of winning in your mind to where they are on the odds board. Finding a team much more likely to win than the odds indicate is the smartest bet you can make. This strategy holds true for most futures odds, including NFL award odds.

The biggest recent Super Bowl underdog was the 2017 Eagles, who beat Brady’s Patriots in the final. They even did so after their No. 1 QB, Carson Wentz, went down with an injury late in the season. Backup Nick Foles took over under center and earned Super Bowl MVP honors to deliver great preseason odds value to Philly’s Super Bowl 52 bettors.
