Come October 22, 2024, a totally new revised, updated, and e x p a n d e d The Cake Bible 35th Anniversary Edition will have its pub release date!
The Cake Bible has been an on going best seller for over 3 decades and a multiple-award winner including IACP’s Best Cookbook of the Year 1988 and their Culinary Classics Award. But many new recipes, techniques, and even revisions to some of its recipes have been done since 1988. Our editor, Cassie Jones, gave us the best comment for what we can include, “What Rose wants, I want”. The 35th year anniversary revised book will have: a stitched binding, a new look for how the charts and recipes are styled, and 20% more photos for its insert. Plus almost 150 more pages with a larger 8 by 10 inch trimmed sized book.

The Cake Bible, 35th Anniversary Edition is NOW available for preorder on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kitchen Arts & Letters, Omnivore, Powell's City of Books, & many book stores!

Book Reviews

We will post reviews by prominent reviewing when we receive them.
8/2/24 STAR REVIEW LIBRARY JOURNAL
“When it debuted in 1988, the now IACP Culinary Classic cookbook The Cake Bible was one of the first American cookbooks to champion weight measurements in baking as well as introduce the reverse creaming method. However, a lot can change in 35 years, and Beranbaum has new knowledge to impart. The 35th-anniversary edition brings with it almost a third more new recipes, including blueberry poppy seed brunch cake, while bringing back old favorites—many with some tweaks—like white chocolate whisper cake. Beranbaum also shares new prep methods she has discovered. For example, when discussing curds, Beranbaum introduces readers to her favorite new preparation method (hint: it involves a microwave). Later, she drops in a brand-new recipe for citrus zest, making good use of any leftover zest cooks may have lying around.
While some things may have changed from the old edition to its superb new incarnation, others remain the same—for instance, Beranbaum’s impressive attention to detail and ability to effortlessly guide bakers through a seemingly complex recipe. Owners of the original will want to read this new edition for its updates and additions, while novice bakers could not ask for a better introduction to the art and science of cake baking.”

Phase 2: Cake Bible-35th Anniversary Edition: Production 2: Lemon Curd~~ Easy New Technique
A great recipe with a new method for making it
Phase 3: Cake Bible-35th Anniversary Edition Production 3: The Editor's Queries
Our manuscript and style sheets are queried and revised by Cassie and us. Her and her assistant Jill’s final, double
spaced (for ease in editing) document before going to the copy editor tallied: 232,000 plus words and 1070.
Converted to the final book, the book will have around 625 pages of text plus the 80 page photos insert.
Phase 4: Cake Bible-35th Anniversary Edition Production 4: Beauty Shots in Kansas City part 1 of 2 8 days, 68 cakes, many
adornments, and 40 pages photographed. A tall order for Team Rosewood to complete, and did with incredible
results. Erin Mc Dowell and us went for a new look for presenting the cakes enhanced by Matthew Septimus having
sunny, natural lighting for the entire shoot.
Phase 5: Cake Bible-35th Anniversary Edition Production 5 (Part 1): Copy Editor and Proof Editor Passes Nearly 5 months of 3
rounds of copy edits for continuity, page layouts and line cuts for uniformity, and two proof readers including our Zach.
Cassie was not shocked to seeing 1000 queries that needed our input.
Phase 6: Cake Bible-35th Anniversary Edition Production 5: First Copies of Our Book Arrive! We were quite surprised when
three copies of the first printing arrived in mid-July! Usually at this point of production with prior books, we would
be receiving the BLAD and paperback galley version of the book. Publishers in ecent years have opted to send these
as downloads to sellers and reviewers.

Phase 7: Cake Bible-35th Anniversary Edition Production 7 : Library Journal's STARRED REVIEW Our first review and stellar!!
The Library Journal and Publisher’s Weekly are two key reviewers an author hopes for star ratings.
