What to Know

Critics Consensus

Jennifer Lopez admirably does her best to shoulder Atlas' seismic scope, but this sci-fi spectacle buckles under the weight of a script whose intelligence is merely artificial.

Audience Member ¡Mi gente intelligencia artificial! This is a video-game ass movie and a cutscene skipping one at that. However, there is no gameplay that makes it tolerable; just J. Lo getting thrown from one CGI action scene to another in a mech suit. The action is alright, but CGI heavy. Props to J.Lo for giving the green-screen acting her all, when the rest of the cast checked out, but she still falls flat of evoking any emotion. It adds nothing new to the A.I. discussion, taking a corporate attitude towards the existential issue by asking: “can we brainstorm ways to incorporate A.I. to improve our workforce productivity”? Sarando must be salivating over the amount of pro-A.I. messaging crammed into this “quality content”. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/21/24 Full Review Liam W This might be one of the most boring films of the year. The movie was only 2 hours, but it felt like 4. The characters weren’t all that interesting. Near the end they had an opportunity to add some more emotion to the film. But since the botched the first half of the film, it didn’t work at all. If you are going to add some of that drama or emotion, you need to do a better job at establishing your characters. This really does feel like a fake movie that’s in a movie about movies. For something that I thought was supposed to be a Sci Fi epic, it lacked spectacle. I didn’t even think the action was good. I will give credit where credit is due. I thought that the bond between Atlas and Smith was sweet. It just didn’t necessarily work all the time because they did a bad job at establishing the story and the characters. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/20/24 Full Review Cristian s Entretenimiento al palo. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/20/24 Full Review Prince Justine D Its about Entertainment and if you like sci fi its great. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/17/24 Full Review Joy J I find the movie entertaining, quite emotional too. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/16/24 Full Review Warren Z It was something to do but several transition mistakes likely due to budget constraints. The ARC suit, Smith outperformed J-Lo. Tell me I'm lying.
