Wenlei Ma News.com.au Filmmaker Mia Hansen-Love has often excelled at telling a humanist story. Rated: 4.5/5 Jun 16, 2023 Full Review Stephen Romei The Australian Seydoux is always worth watching even with the unbecoming, cropped hairstyle she adopts here. Rated: 3.5/5 Jun 9, 2023 Full Review Paul Byrnes Sydney Morning Herald The film achieves intimacy, rather than mere arousal. That’s just one of the ways in which it offers a certain grandeur. Rated: 4/5 Jun 9, 2023 Full Review Tamma Moksha The Hindu Having lost her father to Benson’s syndrome during the pandemic and never getting the chance to bid farewell to him, Mia Hansen-Løve’s film feels like her final goodbye to his spirit and her attempt at seeking closure. Jun 10, 2024 Full Review Danny Brogan Common Sense Media But it's mainly down to the strong performances of Poupaud and especially Seydoux, whose performance captures life's complications and contradictions. Mar 19, 2024 Full Review Jason Blake Limelight Happily, this heartfelt film from Mia Hansen-Løve offers something of a ray of hope in its story of a widowed single mum, her relationship with a married scientist, and the stresses she faces managing the welfare of her mentally declining father. Linda Charming French film Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Juan N Strong performances. The film transports you to the simple pleasures, the basic desires, and the sorrowful events that make our ordinary lives painful and worth living at the same time. It's my favorite style of French film making: a close up lens on ordinary lives. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/14/24 Full Review dave d Mia Hansen-Løve tells a story about love and life in an interesting and long drawn out way. The French-language feature takes time to develop and then doesn't go anywhere, but that appears to be the point. Life is moving quickly at the same time it isn't progressing. Brilliant at its best, it is worth seeing, but won't be for everyone. Final Score: 6.2/10 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/27/24 Full Review Matthew R Boring and regurgitated movie about Alzheimers, infidelity and supposed romance. Nothing new was explored in the movie. Only redeeming qualities were the acting all the way around. Everyone bought in to the script for whatever reason and the work reflected that. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/07/24 Full Review Dani G One fine film. Simple, no pretentious Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/10/23 Full Review Laurie F What a wonderful film. The complexities of our lives rendered beautifully on screen. A powerful but gentle exploration of choices and challenges. Fantastic performances all around, great direction and cinematography and written with love and compassion. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews
