If you want a bedspread, or quilt to touch the floor and give a more generous and complete bed coverage, we recommend choosing the size up from your actual bed size, especially if you have a high bed base, divan, or bedstead. If you want the bedspread, or quilt, to drape over the sides of the bed, not touching the floor and revealing a small amount of the bed linen underneath on each side, then choose the same size as your bed. For a decorative finish, when layering bed covers on top of each other, always ensure a bit of each layer is showing by folding down different sizes to perfectly drape the bed.
