You've read the reviews by now, or I'm sure you will as we did before we pulled the trigger. We fall into the happy customer camp.

Lets face it, removing 30 year old insulation, cleaning up rat droppings, rodent proofing and installing new insulation in both the crawl space and attic in a 1954 ranch house is an incredibly tough and demanding job. It took 6 guys all day, they worked super hard, were respectful, and stayed until all the final details were completed.

Backing up briefly, I called Atticare on a Wednesday, Adam the technician (the guy who sold us the job) showed up on Thursday, and on Friday we had a crew of 6 working here all day. Adam spent 2.5 hours with me and unpacked the job in a very methodical and thoughtful way. As you can imagine this was a lot of money and there's always a bit of cynicism mixed in when you're buying a service that you likely won't do for another 25 years. Adams approach sounds consistent with the other reviews, he wasn't pushy, but knowledgeable and took the time to walk through my many questions.

The process, keep in mind can be a bit stressful, but these guys go the extra mile to try and be as low impact as possible. Nico was our foreman, he was very thoughtful and worked with me throughout the day to answer questions as they came up. In the end, there was some missing insulation in the crawl space in crevices that I pointed out, and Nico made sure his guys went back in to address my concerns. This type of work, especially with the scale of our job means that you will want to make sure you take the time to inspect their work. Do your homework and make sure you have clear expectations about what your buying. After a long day, everyone is tired, and it's the details that have the potential to get lost. This isn't so much a slight on our crew or even Atticare, they worked their butts off, but the devil is in the details. Tired often leads to missing something. Nico was more than willing to take care of those details, but it took my request or I'm pretty certain they would have gone undone. This is the one missing star in my review. If you sell yourself as the "Cadillac of the attic care world", than everyone on the crew, as advertised, should know that gaps mean inefficiencies, which means you're not getting what you paid for. Having to get on my hands and knees and point out issues didn't instill the utmost confidence that everyone doing the installation was qualified as promised. And, of course keep in mind, this type of work is super demanding, Tyvek suits, masks and goggles, on your hands and knees...crawling..all day long. You get the picture.

Its been about a week since our install, and the house is dramatically warmer. The furnace comes on less, and is much quieter due to the crawl space insulation that now buffers it from our master bedroom. Will we get a 25% saving on our energy bill, to be determined. Clearly though it has made a huge difference. The jury is still out on the rodent proofing, Atticare spent the better part of the day closing up holes we never knew existed, so I'm hopeful. Their work is guaranteed for a year, and I've been promised they'll return if the critters find their way back in.

Buying new insulation is a lot like buying a new roof, although at least with that you can see it. But there is something about a warmer, or cooler home, free of mice and rat dropping that you can feel. And if you're like us, you put this expense off year after year spending too much on energy while being cold in the winter and hot in the summer, knowing that there were uninvited guests living in the parts of your home you pretend don't exist. Atticare did a great job in what I imagine can feel like a thankless profession. Roofers, you aren't the only ones under appreciated. Ah..home ownership.

Samm was very gracious when he came over for the bid and explained all the details of removing and replacing my insulation. On the day of the work the team that came over was excellent. They were efficient, quiet, and respectful of my home. The team was able to run the removal tubing out the upper window so it didn't have to go through my whole house. They did a great job and I would highly recommend them to anybody who's thinking of replacing their insulation.

The price was very competitive and I received good value.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU HAVE A RODENT ISSUE! Get an actual rodent proofing company to do the work and eradicate the problem. Then get your insulation. We spent almost $18,00 on Atticare's services, rodent proofing being one of my biggest concerns, and our rodent issue is just as bad, if not worse. The salesperson will tell you everything under the sun to get you to sign the contract with them to do the work. They have a warranty, and they've come out to fix a few issues, but the biggest problem is they laid a vapor barrier over plain old dirt in our crawl space where the burrowing rodents BURROW RIGHT THROUGH. I have asked them to patch up the hole in the vapor barrier, and every time they say it's no big deal. Well, I've had THREE estimates from different rodent proofing companies who have all said it is absolutely absurd to place a vapor barrier over dirt, you need to pour cement down and then place the vapor barrier, otherwise the rodents will continue burrowing through. So, we have to spend another $20,000 to finally eradicate the problem.

I wish we would have retained a rodent proofing company first, then the insulation. Because now, our brand new expensive insulation has also been compromised with rat/mice urine and feces because we didn't properly rodent proof/seal off all entry points, as Atticare had promised.

Oh, also, the inspector gave us the price that we signed a contract on and then during the job, said he miscalculated and it will be $1,800 more and if we could please pay that, otherwise it'll get taken out of his paycheck. Well, that's a lot of money to miscalculate over especially when we're already paying almost $18k, so my husband said we would pay him half. We have since looked at every nook and cranny and they didn't do a huge portion of the insulation. Probably for this reason. Don't use this company!

My experience with Atticare for attic clean-up and insulation refill was incredibly disappointing and frustrating. There were several issues that highlighted their lack of professionalism and failure to fulfill their contractual obligations.

Initially, they promised to vacuum all the blow-in insulation from the attic, including the garage area, and assured me it would be completed in one day. However, despite sending a crew of four people, they finished the job in just four hours. They claimed all work was done and promised to provide before-and-after photos by the following Monday. However, these photos were delayed by three days and didn't even cover all areas of the attic. Upon inspecting myself, I discovered that insulation under loose plywood in the garage and kitchen areas had not been removed, contrary to our agreement. Additionally, debris in these areas was left untouched.

I contacted them with photographic evidence and they agreed to a second appointment to rectify the situation. To my surprise, they sent only one person accompanied by a 13-year-old child, equipped with a handheld vacuum. This method of work was unprofessional and resulted in fine dust covering my washer, dryer, and garage corners. Furthermore, the shelf near the attic entrance collapsed the same night, likely due to mishandling during insulation removal.

Unfortunately, the issues didn't end there. During routine HVAC maintenance the following weekend, I discovered insulation had not been properly removed from under the HVAC unit. It appeared they had deliberately covered this area with new batt insulation to conceal their oversight from the photos they provided. When I raised this concern with their office and the estimator, I was met with unprofessionalism and hostility. Instead of addressing my valid concerns, I was scolded for being "picky" and asked to provide directions on how they should perform their job.

After persistent complaints, they finally sent their supposed "top-notch technician" who managed to rectify most of the missed spots using a handled vacuum and MY extension cord. However, even after their intervention, I found two additional areas with old insulation remaining, which I decided to leave as they were in the garage.

I reached out to the office via text to seek compensation for my lost time (two working days, time spent inspecting their work, and cleaning up the garage). Unfortunately, I received no response from them whatsoever.

In conclusion, my experience with Atticare was marred by unfulfilled promises, unprofessional conduct, and poor customer service. I would strongly advise others to consider alternative options for attic clean-up and insulation services.

the folllowing Friday. installer, Yousio, arrived promptly and dlid a quality install. He cleaned up all traces of construction.
Atticcare quote was significantly lower than another quote received.
I would definitely recommend this business are a reliable and efficient partner!

Samuel was our sales rep and was very pro-active in communicating scheduling and our options. The atticare team also did an excellent job clearing out all the blown in insulation, sealing, cleaning and laying new attic batt down. The job was also done in a day and they were very clean moving material in and out. My house was built in 1977 and had only a couple inches of blown in insulation, now I'm up near R-40 and my AC hardly runs! Thanks!

Our 50+ year-old house still had its original insulation when we moved in nearly 20 years ago. I use the word "insulation" very loosely here, because in reality it wasn't doing very much. The old stuff was that loose, crappy blown-in junk that was inconsistent in its thickness and coverage. In the winters, the house struggled to retain heat and the furnace always seemed to run continually through the night. Things were worse in the summer, when the attic got superheated and the heat would percolate into the living area well into the night, so even though it was cool outside and the windows were open, the would still warm up.

A couple friends recently had their attic insulation replaced by Atticare, and they were both happy with the results. We contacted them and they responded quickly, and within a day or two Dylan came to give an estimate. He offered a number of other services that they could provide, but in the end we just wanted an attic cleanout and new rolled insulation. The price quoted was competitive with another estimate that we received, and Dylan agreed to install more eco-friendly insulation at no added cost.

Getting the work done was delayed for a few months because we still had to get our roof replaced, which would drop a lot of extra debris. Once that was done, however, it was easy to set up a time for Atticare's work. Once they arrived, they sealed off the other living areas to ensure that no dust or dirt would be dispersed. They donned their hazmat-like suits and went to work with their industrial vacuum, taking out multiple bags of old insulation and other accumulated junk. They disinfected the empty attic, sealed off all the potential entry points for rodents (even for the crawlspace), and laid out thick rolls of insulation. It all took less than a day and they left the house clean.

The effect of the new insulation was almost immediately noticed. Even on some of the colder nights, the furnace didn't turn on nearly as often as in the past. On some of the more recent warmer days (into the upper 80s), we haven't had to run the air conditioning at all. Yes, we know that we may never fully recover the cost of the insulation in the form of lower energy costs, but it's nice to know that we're burning less natural gas and using less electricity.

I'm sad to say that Nate and the atticare team were great to work with and did an excellent job for a reasonable rate. It's unfortunate because I needed a new story for my favorite pastime of "complaining about my contractors".

Initially we weren't sure what we needed. Just that the attic looked like a dusty mess and the HVAC ducts looked to be falling apart. Nate got up there for a thorough look, gave us a clear assessment of the work needed, and the options we have along with their pros and cons.

The cleaning and installation was just as smooth. The crew kept our house clean and was done earlier than expected.

For comparison, we got another quote from a well known competitor. They were less thorough with the inspection, quoted us a little higher, and needed an extra day for the work.

Sam from Atticare was super friendly and helpful. He answered all my questions and took care of any worries I had. On the day of the work, the foreman was really nice and professional. They finished the job just like they said they would and I was really happy with how it turned out. I'd definitely recommend Atticare to my friends and family. I give Atticare 5 stars.

From the very beginning, Samuel, the project manager, impressed me. He was incredibly patient and kind as he explained everything to me. He is the only one among companies identified some potentially dangerous Knob & Tube wiring in my attic. Thanks to Samuel's attentiveness, I knew to call an electrician to fix the wiring before the insulation went in, potentially saving me a major headache (and safety hazard) down the line.

Attic Care's quote wasn't the absolute cheapest, but Samuel was fantastic about working with me to find a reasonable price that included the type of insulation I wanted. The installation itself went smoothly - the crew arrived exactly when they said they would and were incredibly careful and respectful while working in my home.

There is one missing spot in basement insulation, i'm sure Samuel will see it through and get that fixed.

Attic Care's professionalism, attention to safety, and overall quality of service were outstanding. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for attic and basement insulation work.

We had Atticare install a vapor barrier in our crawl space. Initially, we had some issues that needed to be addressed, and after contacting our project manager, Nate Manor, each, and every one of our issues were addressed, and the final product is excellent. Nate addressed every single one of my concerns with high professionalism. He personally came and thoroughly inspected the final product before ensuring me that it was to their high standards.
