Wow- it's Sunday during Labor Day weekend and it seems that my garbage disposal has come loose from the sink. I look underneath to see water in the cabinet under the sink. I called Discount Plumbing that I found by searching for plumbers online. Mike came out and determined that my garbage disposal was very old ( I should have known that) and once it came loose, it was so heavy, it had broken the pipes below. Well he fixed everything that day! I now have a new garbage disposal and everything is working just fine.

Called Discount Plumber (among others) on a Tuesday 9am. They were one of 2 plumbers that actually picked up the phone. And of the 2, they were able to send someone immediately (the other said maybe 4pm). We had a main drain backup so wanted to get it taken care of asap.

What we expected as a simple snaking turned out a bit bizarre. The snake ran into no stoppages. The camera saw no water, but we had a backup! Thanks to the dedicated Lazaro, we finally figured it out after 2 or 3 hours.

Highly recommend them - the pursuit of the truth rather than nickel and diming you on various services is helpful. Plumbing is tricky in sf since everything is underground and you can't see! Sometimes you HAVE to try a million different things to figure it out. Really glad Lazaro and Stephen were there to help.

I had a great experience with Discount Plumbing but want to specifically call out Ricardo De La Rosa for his time and effort put into the work needed. Ricardo was everything you want in someone working on a home.
His initial inspection was incredibly thorough, taking the time to get in the crawlspace with a camera, showing me the specific issues he found and walking me through potential solutions. When doing the agreed upon work Ricardo lead his team (who also worked incredibly hard), getting his hands dirty as well and being amazingly informative, talking me through each step, providing options, and keeping me updated on progress. Before finishing up Ricardo walked me through testing of all the drains and spouts and made sure everything not only functioned but functioned well.
I saw a few smaller bids for less work but was so impressed with Ricardo in the initial inspection I was happy to go with Discount Plumbing instead, and couldn't be happier with the result. I should also call out that they were flexible on the price and came down more than I asked to land the job.

I'm just going to list the qualities that struck me most and would absolutely recommend this company if Ricardo is on your job.

My garbage disposal was an unholy mess. They came and poked around and said they would have to replace the whole unit. It was going to be $600 plus labor. I called another plumber who showed up right away and found the problem was buildup in the pipes and drained them. Works like new. It took him 15 minutes. $150. Now Discount are calling me and offering guess what - discounts. Maybe small jobs are not worth it to them. I wouldn't hire them for a big one either. Trust is the best discount.

Hey everybody! We have used discount plumbing several times all for different issues!
We called them out this time to look at a drainage issue a few months back and we wanted to share how pleased we were with the final replacement project!
It was easy to set up the appointment for a re-assessment and they were able to get started right away!
We requested Simon and Connor come out again and we were pleased that they came back out and were able to honor the original price they gave us a few months back! If I have any other plumbing issues in the future I will definitely be requesting for them again!
