Herz Appliances

I work for a SF Property Management company, and we've worked with Herz Appliances for almost a decade! The owner, Douglas, continues to be an awesome partner, from repairs to replacements of major appliances.

He has been and continues to be one of the primary vendors we reach out to. Douglas is also an excellent communicator. Go ahead, try Herz Appliances the next time you're in need of a repair or replacement. You will NOT be disappointed!

Douglas helped us out with our old stove and was so helpful, nice, and reasonably priced. There was a slight persistent gas smell that we couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Douglas came out the next day, found the leak, checked everything on the stove and oven, and replaced the old tube that was leaking. Douglas is so kind, a hard, honest worker, and we can't thank him enough. Thank you, Douglas!!!

My refrigerator failed and I was sure i needed to purchase a new one at a huge cost. I saw a recommendation in a local "guide" and decided for an opinion before I abandoned it.
Doug came the next morning (Saturday) and told me it could be repaired. Estinate was around $250. Very long story short, after much effort and many visits, purchase of several parts and endless labor, I was left with a refrigerator that works like new and a bill that totaled LESS than the original estinate.

I absolutely recommend Doug of Herz Appliances Repair, [1700 Bay Street, SF (Marina area); phone # (415) 672-6874]. He SAVED my once-broken Maytag dishwasher, my Maytag washing machine, my Maytag dryer . . . All of these appliances could possibly be considered vintage, and all now work like new. The most recent problem I had with my washing machine, Doug taught me how to fix it myself over the phone, no charge . . . incredible service. I rarely need to call him b/c once he has fixed something, it stays working indefinitely. Kudos to Doug and to Herz Appliances!!

Doug said he would back his work by warranty and he surely did. After a month our washer broke again and he came and fixed it right back up free of charge.

We could not be happier & will be recommending him to our friends and family.

Man of his word and quality work

As luck would have it, my dryer quit working on that weekend between Christmas and New Year's. My usual appliance repair place was closed for the holidays, as were about 4 others I called. I happened on Herz Appliances and talked to Doug.

Doug was friendly, honest and reasonable. He showed up on time (actually, he adjusted his time, because I was late getting home), diagnosed the problem (broken thermostat fuse - or something like that), and had it repaired in about 15 minutes.

Doug was so good, he might be my new favorite appliance repair person now!

Douglas is one of the most conscientious repair people I've ever encountered. He came out to look at our refrigerator which had stopped cooling, and spent considerable time defrosting it just so our food wouldn't go bad. He later came to repair a broken heating element and, again, spent time defrosting what had built up over a couple of days and making absolutely sure everything was in working order. He also looked into another minor issue that I mentioned offhandedly while he had the refrigerator partly disassembled, and took the time to explain what went wrong. In addition to all of this, he was very accommodating to my scheduling needs. Next time I need an appliance looked at, he'll be the first person I call.

I called them on behalf of my employer. He was on time, thorough, honest, etc. Everyone was happy with his services!

This guy is super responsive and gave an honest response. He advised me to replace my machine instead of wasting money on repairs. Very satisfied.

Douglas is the man. Our dryer succumbed to wear-and-tear and needed new rotater-splint (note: not a real part, I don't know parts) and after calling a few places I got in touch with Douglass. Showed up on time as promised, price was reasonable, fixed all problems we asked him to in a timely manner. Would recommend to my mother-in-law (note: do not have mother-in-law.)
