Holda Washer & Dryer

I had a wonderful experience today with Mr. Zygmunt Holda. About a week ago, I called Holda to request help to fix a loud, high-pitched, squeaky dryer. I had had another local repair man come by who had said my dryer ball-barring needed to be replaced, he would need to order the parts, it would take several a weeks and then suddenly he became unavailable to repair it, indefinitely. So when I called Holda, I half expected to have the same response. However, I was so pleasantly surprised when Mr. Zygmunt Holda arrived promptly, had my entire dryer taken apart within 5 minutes and gave me a clear diagnosis of the problem. My dryer is a 10-year old GE model but he even had the parts to fix it with him! He vacuumed out the entire dryer unit, repaired it and put it back together within an hour. That is priceless service! I greatly appreciate the care and attention to detail that Mr. Zygmunt Holda provided and would highly recommend him!

I hired Holda several times over the years. He has repaired my Maytag washer/dryer stacked combo and it continues to work despite being 35+ years old. He is an excellent and trustworthy man.

Exactly what you want in a service-provider: smart, efficient,, trust-worthy and communicative. I wish Zygmunt were a general contractor, too, as I would hire him to do all sorts of projects for our home.

Best of all - he showed us how to fix our small problem, should it happen again.

Zygmunt is the best appliance repairman I have ever encountered (and trust me, I've been through the lot of them with my washing machine).

Honest, hardworking, efficient, dependable, and communicative. He took the time to show me what was broken and how it was being fixed, and he was extremely careful and considerate of my appliances and home during the process. He really knows his stuff.

He was also the only one to give me some sort of estimate over the phone, and his estimate was accurate and very fair.

I wish I could use him again but hope I won't need to for a long time. In the meantime, I'll live vicariously through your experience with this wonderful resource!

I'm a SF property manager and I'm here to confirm what I've known for over 10 years: Zygmunt is the best and only repair technician I would ever use for my washers and dryers. Intelligent, professional and fair would be an apt description.

If you need someone to drop what they're doing to handle your problem immediately then, maybe no (hint - he's in demand). But if you can sit tight for a day or five then, yes, call him and you'll be glad you did.

Knowledgable, punctual, tidy and friendly. Zygmunt is my go-to now for washer/dryer repair!

My experience has been quite the opposite of the other reviews. The first time this guy came by, he couldn't find the problem. He said if we continued having problems, he'd come back and waive the $70 service fee.

We almost immediately had problems again. We had a helluva time rescheduling him. It took over a week to get an appointment.

After almost two weeks without a washer, he was supposed to be here today at 1:30. At 2pm when he still wasn't here, I called him. He sounded confused and said he had no way to know the time, and asked what time it was, and then said he could be there by 3pm. WTF?

When he finally arrived, he spent a minute or two looking at the machine and claimed it was the belt and pulley. Then he said he couldn't return with the parts until the following Tue. What? Argh!

Next I asked about the price. He said it would be $25 for the belt, $7 for the pulley and $70 for the service fee. I asked why he was charging the service fee. Holda said that what was wrong wasn't what he thought was wrong last time, therefore we owed the service fee. Huh?

That made no sense to me.

I thanked him and said I'd find someone else. At that point, he stood next to my wash machine and proceeded to yell at me for the next several minutes about why his convoluted logic was fair. I did not engage in the argument, thanked him again and waited for him to leave.

I have been without a washer for weeks, am out $70 and basically I'm at square one. My dad used to repair washers and dryers. I cannot imagine him behaving this way. My experience has been that this guy is hard to schedule, expensive, unprofessional, late, and he goes back on his word.

Mr. Holda knows his stuff. They've been in the biz for about 20 years.

Came in to fix a three year old Whirlpool washer that had an aluminum ring pop out. He ended up showing me how to maintain the washer and dryer. Estimated about 70 bucks for the repair.

Oh and he took my nice pen. That wasn't cool haha..
