I am definitely not a fan of fast food, so imagine my skepticism when my co-workers were trying to convince me that the Bay Centre food court would have tasty options.
Fast forward to the food court (yes, I am easily convinced). Scanning around I didn't see anything tasty or interesting at all until I landed on a small store in the far corner -- Koryo.
With an exterior screaming "Asian fusion!!!" I assumed it would be some terrible offspring of mall and Asian fusion. Turns out, the food wasn't bad at all.
PROS:
+ All barbecued meats are marinated, Korean style and then grilled
+ Meals come with healthy helpings of rice and side dishes that you can choose; side dishes are authentic and really good
+ Kimchee is particularly good at this place
+ Some innovative Korean-American menu items
CONS:
- Although this is a good Korean fix to get in downtown, the meat doesn't seem to be marinated as well as going to an actual joint that serves Korean BBQ; speaking of which, I heard there is a Korean BBQ place on Fisgard St.?
- Expect to pay a decent price for the food, although you can opt for the cheaper sandwiches, forgoing the lunch platesHelpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mark M.Victoria, Canada1620812Mar 5, 2018
I sometimes find myself needing to feed my children quickly downtown. Not wanting to fill them with the pap from the usual fast food options, I will bring them here for a more balanced and yummy meal. I can find an option for each of them, no matter how picky they're feeling and I can also get myself something that will satisfy me. Not a bad job for a mall food court restaurant.
I recently tried the Koryo fries and they were fantastic (okay I wasn't looking for something healthy for myself that day, parental double standard). They asked if I wanted them spicy and I said yes, expecting the usual little tingle that are other cultures interpretation of Caucasian tolerance for spice. This time I got the burn I wanted.
If you find yourself in the mall and hungry, hit up Koryo for some decent fast food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Yulia S.Montreal, Canada23740Sep 4, 2017
Garlic potatoes are very tasty, beef slices were a bit thin. Fast service. Staffs are actually Chinese, not Korean.

Probably to best value in the Bay Center. I hit the food court wanting something with some reasonable idea of health value (or at least, the vegetables included weren't just those eaten by the animal). Decided to give Koryo a go.
The portions were generous and the staff was awesome. I arrived shortly before close and the food was fresh and the meat was grilled after ordering.
Will happily eat there again and that's quite a statement for fast food. ;)Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ian S.Chula Vista, CA3010Dec 28, 2017
This was one of the worst places to eat in the mall. Service was despicable and food was awful! Will never be back and do not recommend this place to anyone! The server should learn some customer service etiquette.

Always have this when I shopping with my friends. Love the food here. The lady is really nice and always give me enough portion. Low price but with great value.

The only place you can eat healthy food at that mall. I get tired of always the same old junk food and Koryo has finally arrived to the rescue. The staff tends to be very helpful, and the owner is on staff, so he cares.
