Parkside Appliance

This is the most reliable appliance repair service I have ever worked with in SF. Linda is always patient and helps to troubleshoot the problem before setting up your appointment. The repair person always comes on time and calls if he can't be on time. And... they always do the job! They actually like helping people!
I heartily recommend them.

I usually try to fix things myself. But I hadn't the patience for this dishwasher drain issue after a couple of attempts.

Linda answered the phone at Parkside Appliance and went through a checklist of basic troubleshooting to help me avoid the cost of a service call. Based covered, or so I thought, I scheduled a replacement of the dishwasher drain pump.

A couple of days later, Rick arrived and quickly discovered that the air gap was clogged. As he whisked away the debris, Rick lightly joked that I had done the hard part of clearing the drain, twice, and missed the easy fix. I was glad that I had overlooked that minor detail instead of having to replace a perfectly functioning pump.

Overall, I was happy to pay a minimal service fee and was glad to support this honest small neighborhood business. I would entrust Parkside Appliance to any needed future repairs.

My washing machine I purchased in 1998 stopped agitating. I called Parkside & also left a message on Yelp. Linda was extremely nice & told me Tom had passed so they were very busy but Rick would try to get over as soon as possible. I also called another shop & was told they were also very busy & would get back to me. I went to my brothers house to do my laundry so I was okay with waiting. Using his new machine also confirmed my decision that I wanted my machine fixed. On Wednesday the other repairman showed up as he had a cancellation. He was able to fix the machine. An hour later Rick came by as I had missed his call. I explained I just got the machine fixed. I had the parts that were broken on the machine so he did look at it & confirmed the part did need to be replaced & it was good the other person had the part. He was very kind & informative & not at all upset someone else fixed the machine. In the future I will definitely call Parkside if I need my machine repaired.

This is my go-to appliance repair service. It's a small family run business and Linda is the best - she is friendly and empathetic and will try her best to get you in their busy schedule. It's worth the wait. She even gave me a tip on my dishwasher problem which actually worked, saving me a service call. Highly recommend!

I have used Parkside for at least 15 years...Linda, who answers the phone and Rick who has come and got my washer and dryer back in service on many occasions, are a great team...they both have always been honest and upfront on what they can do, when they can do it and how long it is gonna take...Rick has just left my home this evening at about 8pm because he did not want me to have to wait to get my dryer back working again...this is the type of customer service and follow through that "mom & pop" type business have....I would recommend Parkside to anyone

Highly recommend Parkside Appliance. I spoke with Linda several times and she was helpful and friendly. Rick did an excellent job repairing my dryer quickly and efficiently, fair and reasonable prices. Support the local family owned business! Would definitely call again the next time I need an appliance repair.

Top notch. Dishwasher soap/rinse aid dispenser issue resolved (replaced) quickly. Excellent follow-up by Linda at the office. Rick, who came out for the repair, was fast, helpful, and friendly.

Plus I learned that you should clean out the filter at the bottom of a Bosch dishwasher at least once a month!

Parkside, how do I start.

Well, here. First my wife's breathing down my back about getting a washing machine fixed that I broke. I was prepared to pay upwards $1200 to get it replaced, but the other major problem with this predicament was that the washer was underneath the dryer, IN A CLOSET. Home Depot or the shit delivery services they work with would disconnect/remove the dryer in order to replace JUST the washing machine.

After calling around SF for a day, I realized they're wont be any repairing as all said it was impossible to do under the price of a new washer. A few days later arguing back and forth w/ home depot, and I thought to myself, lemme try one more time to get it repaired. At this time, all hope is lost because now the wife and baby's cloths are now going to a local laundry to get done. Now I'm feeling heat...

.... In comes Rick. I explain the situation and with the most confidence, says, "oh, we'll get it done". 2 days later him and his uncle (i believe) come out, and this guy jumps OVER the washer and dryer to drain the pump causing the problem. They stayed over the allocated 2 hours to help me and left without finishing the job. They left it @ 85% done. THEN, RICK comes back on MEMORIAL DAY to finish up the job right before the warriors beat the rockets in game 7 of the western conference finals. This was important to remember as he definitely said he wanted to watch the game and our house was filling up with our guest. He worked clean through that, cut me a check, left with a beer and got to see the game (of which we won!).

Listen, I'm from the South where I expect people to be about their word, and about their work. This family (including linda who answered the phone) made me feel that when hope was all lost, and nobody could finish the job, this family will GET SHIT DONE. They did exactly that and arguable saved my marriage. Sleeping with the dog on the couch gets old eventually. Any company, no matter what you do, BE ABOUT YOUR WORD AND YOUR WORK like this company.

Our washing machine was a very challenging fix, and Rick went above and beyond to source the issue and resolve it, all while providing us with genuine recommendations and alternatives that looked out for our best interest (should our washer end up kaput). Honest, warm, and tremendously talented - you will have your appliance fixed thoroughly and with quick scheduling! Highly recommended!
