Sutter Stockton Garage

I was so pleased to find reviews of parking garages on Yelp. We all know how much of a nightmare driving and parking in the city is. Well, nightmare no more! The Sutter Stockton Garage is here! This is bar none the best place to park near Union Square. $7.50 maximum for evening parking? It's a dream come true!

Contrast this with the garage around the corner. They charge the same price per 20 MINUTES with a maximum of $46. Ouch. My wallet, it is bleeding profusely from the anus!

$7.50 is probably the best price in the city, and definitely my preferred parking when I go to Ruby Skye (about four blocks away). Paying $7.50 to avoid circling around the block for a half hour looking for street parking eliminates stress and also gives you the peace of mind of knowing your car is in a safe place away from the crazy bums of San Francisco. If you've lived in the Bay Area long enough, the couple block walk to your destination is well-worth the money, even if street parking would be cheaper.

I am never parking anywhere else in the city. Sutter Stockton Garage FTW.

I have used this garage for many years, and it is my preferred option in the Union Square area. Well laid out, good sized parking spaces, clean, seems safe, and generally well maintained. A couple of minor quibbles are that the 4th level exit is closed much of the day, as are the levels above the 4th level.

Had a very unpleasant exchange with Carlos the manager who was reprimanding a customer who was attempting to move the sign blocking the 5th floor because the 4th floor was getting too full. Apparently they won't open the 5th until all the spots on 4 have been filled. What's happening is when it's almost full cars are backing out and going the wrong direction to find spots and that is unsafe and creates hostile experiences...
Not to mention as a woman it's important for me not to park in back and nearish to elevator for safety. Carlos was rude to that woman moving sign and to me when I came to her defense and explained the unsafe situation... I also had to tell him multiple times to not be aggressive and get in customers and woman's faces. He only said, we don't have the ability to monitor that floor.
One more level out of at least 12 they have there...
We pay enough to have the 5th floor accessible. Bad Stockton/Sutter, bad.
Please open the 5th floor.
*when I left to go home I stopped by Kiosk (which is now unavailable for anyone) found a attendant standing nearby and asked how to complain about this and he said "Carlos is the manager so sorry".
Also noticed at 12:30 when I left they had still not opened the 5th floor.
After parking here for over 20years I am very disappointed.

If there is any hope of San Francisco it lies in the condition of Sutter Stockton.

Owned by the city ( I use to sit on the board of trustees of the SF Parking) they could have easily let it fall into "tenderloin condition"

Instead they modernized the elevators, repainted, cleaned up, beefed up security...and automated everything.

In other words they have made it way better. No more homeless people peeing allover the place.

If Sutter Stockton can do it.....Herb Caen's Baghdad by the Bay sure can too!

Great location if you're going near/around Union Square. Used this garage twice this week for the holiday season.

My gps brought me to the entrance on Bush and it was closed from that entrance. I had to go around from sutter at to get to Stockton to get to the other entrance.

I usually find free street parking if it's past 6pm but this is a not bad alternative.

We used this garage on Friday 12/23/2022 from 630pm-1am. Total was $21.00
We were here around 3pm-7pm on 12/26/2022 on a Monday. Our total ended up being $14.00

You get 15mins to exit the garage after you pay at the machines on the way in. When exiting there are certain times you can't turn left onto Sutter st.

Beware of Stockton Sutter garage rates! The other day we paid $10 for 75 minutes. We waited close to 10 minutes in the exit lane and when we finally got to the gate we were charge $5 more to get out! Not our fault if we were backed up and there were issues at the gates. Attendants ignored our complaint as well as those of others who ended up paying more. You need to pay in person at the kiosks and then run to your car hoping there isn't a line of cars exiting before getting charged extra!

I love this place and I use them at least thrice a Month and everytime i go there I am greeted with a smile and guide me to park.
I use this place as its near to my clients and no breakins or theft has ever happened since August 2022.

This place is clean though slightly pricely but worth parking here.

The Best thing is about their service and people who work there and I want to complement MIKE who is such a warm person and very friendly person and a great human being, he is on second or thrid floor but a person who is ready to HELP his clients.

Keep up with good work MIKE!

The garage is mostly clean and well lit. Very convenient spot if you're visiting Union Square, Chinatown or the general area.

Pro tip: never leave anything of value in your car.

INFESTED WITH MICE ALL OVER THE GARAGE. I park here everyday and mice have tore up and gotten inside my car. Absolutely disgusting. Elevators never work so good luck hiking up the stairs. So much money being put into this garage the least they can do is pest control maintenance and fix the g dang elevators

do not park here if you value your property! i was visiting on vacation to get some bike riding in for the 4th of july weekend. my bike was stolen!!! my bike was triple locked, parked here for a few hours came back to check on my stuff and grab a few things. so disappointing! vacation cancelled. these folks are vultures!!! security seemed nonchalant seems this happens often!!
