I accidentally stumbled into The Sewing Machine Place after a shopping morning at The MIllbrae Farmers Market. It was the best accident, as I met Angi, the owner. She is a pleasure to work with. Very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. I ended up purchasing a used Evolution Baby Lock serger, for a great price and I'm in love with it. Angi also gave me a lesson on how to use the machine and offered her availability whenever I have questions. I highly recommend Angi and The Sewing Machine Place.

We all have those businesses that we cannot give enough five star reviews for! Angi is the sewing machine whisperer!! She is very busy and in high demand so keep in mind you must be patient when leaving a machine with her. After Angi brought my old baby lock serger back to life i enthusiastically used it a LOT so when it stopped working i had to come see Angi to have it fixed! I also purchased a used brother Serger from her which i LOVE. Be sure to make Angi your first stop if you are learning about sewing. The sewing machine place is the best.

The Sewing Machine Place is wonderful family owned business. I have known Angi, the owner since the early 1980's, when the business was at SF/Daly City, top of the hill location.

Angi's professionalism, knowledge and experience is sure to help you find right sewing/ embroidery machine that best suits your budget and creative needs.
Angi's clients are more like a sewing family and friends who you don't have to see all the time to know they are there for you. The Sewing Machine Place is a wealth of resources.
Another wonderful sewing teacher/ creative workshop facilitator is Cheryl, she is very knowledgeable with the many sewing software. Cheryl is always will to go the extra mile to help you.
So, why am I writing when the business is closed you ask? In the midst of this Co Vid 19 Pandemic, I started making Olson masks for all grandkids after seeing the inferior quality masks, nieces and nephews were wearing. I was getting other people offering to pay for my masks.
My Babylock Ellageo started acting up after several about a dozen masks; I called Angi, and told her about my situation and Bless her heart, my sewing machine was fixed!
I highly recommend, The Sewing Machine Place for all sewing machine, repair and notions.
Don't waste your time big chain stores, with Angi, you have a great resource and friend.

I had an excellent time at this place. As you all know, I've been on the lookout for sewing machines and did a great deal on looking for a good machine with a good price. I've done so much research and found many places to be a let down. I also had just missed out on a great deal at Joanns and came here.

Angi was really nice and helpful with finding me a sewing machine. She repairs and gets trade ins all the time and it really seemed like she knew what she was talking about. I didn't has the same experience anywhere else. She even told me how she makes sure she puts out the best resellable machines out and keeps the sucky ones in the back for parts.

She sold me on a 5 year old dc baby lock. Which is comparable to the Rachael baby lock. It was previously owned by an old lady who didn't really need all the dazzle dazzle things. She also recommended I come in for a complimentary class. She gave me her personal phone number if I ever had problems with my machine and said she'd give me a step by step fix over the phone. I thought that was really nice. She also said she would be pretty sure she would know what I'm talking about.

I took the class and there was a lot I learned and had a lot of good information. I already read the instructors manual so I knew the basics. Since is never sewn before, it was nice she had shown me how to do certain things that I may come across. She also have me her email if I needed help with anything.

While the class was going on, there were a couple things that needed a fix. Which wasn't a problem or inconvenience. At least there wasn't anything broken. Definitely take the free class. I would have never known about these things if I didn't take the class.

The automatic threader, the inside of the bobbin holder was dusty and there was thread that was caught underneath the bobbin winder. That and the automatic threader was fixed and I just dusted the bobbin holder out when I got home. Other than that, the machine is working well!!! I have been using it ever sine I've gotten it and I am so happy with it!!!

I'm glad yelp led me here after all those stores. I am very satisfied with the service and with the product. Thank you Angi for your time and help!

Angi is the Best!!! No one in the Bay Area knows sewing machine as well as she does. She truly understands your sewing needs because she knows machines and sews, too.
Angi fixed my 30+ years old Bernina Industrial sewing machine, which no other shops knew what to do with it. My Bernina runs like it's brand new. Angi performed another miracle and fixed my friends 30+ years old overlock machine. The machine now does beautiful stitches.
Angi does amazing custom embroidery work. I used to sew professionally. Angi is Amazing. 10 Stars!!!!

Before Yelp there was word of mouth. Melissa of Sewn Mill Valley recommended Satin Moon fabrics in San Francisco. There, Susan referred me to The Sewing Machine Place.
Angi is aptly named, an angel of stitchery. Until I was able to get my machine in for repair, she steered me to an inexpensive Babyloc that got the job done.
My vintage Elna is now repaired and good as new - a good investment and definitely worth the drive.

I have been in this shop for the first time only a few days ago. I have a Baby Lock Grace bought from another dealer which I believe is a bad person. I needed to find a new shop able to assist me in case of need, able to offer me accessories and classes, but above all, a shop of honest people and, why not, a welcoming environment.

Since when I put my first foot in the shop (and notice: they allowed my little doggy to enter with me), they all were so nice, polite, kind, patient, that I felt brought back to those shops of our past where passion toward work and respect toward people counted.
Shops like this are rare, and I am glad the luck brought me into it.

I am interested in learning quilting and improving my sewing skills, and they offer classes for both. I had the chance to meet the quilting teacher, very interesting, nice, and available lady. I met Angi, very kind, caring, and helpful lady, and I talked with the sewing teacher, whose name I don't remember, a very sweet, helpful, and caring lady, who told me many things I ignored about my Baby Lock, the sewing, and the quilting. I felt at home right away in this shop.

Here I found everything I was looking for. They have a new loyal costumer :-)

I have been to this shop twice to take in two different Singers to get fixed and for embroidery. My mothers Singer had a needle broken and dull blades and I took that in. My aunts Singer had a broken looper and dull blades so I took it in as well. Angi and Chris have done a superb job on each and my mother and aunt were thrilled and said their machines worked like new!

I also had a jacket I wanted embroidered with my name. The material is polyester and spandex which concerned Angi. She did a fabulous job and it looks great! I am sure to continue to go in. Thank you!

The only thing I will say is that I write very few reviews and when I do I am so impressed that I take the time to do it. My wife and I have purchased two machines from Angi and Chris and would not consider going anywhere else. They are friendly approachable and have helped us when the manufacturer has been stumped. Also Cheryl who works there is fantastic. If you need service or want lessons on how to use your machine this is the place you want to go. If you have heard the phrase Bigger is not always better this is the place proves it wrong. They treat you like family and are always there to help. Can't think of any other place to go for sewing, embroidery, vacuum repairs sales and service.
