Union Street Plaza Garage

I recently used this public garage and had a frustrating experience. The garage closes at 9:15 PM, which can be quite early for those who have evening plans or unexpected delays. When I arrived just a few minutes past closing, there was no one available to assist or answer questions. I tried contacting customer support, but couldn't get through to anyone.

As a result, I had to spend over $100 on Uber rides and overnight parking fees. To make matters worse, there was no one on-site to help, and the customer service line was unresponsive. This garage seems to take advantage of people by not being transparent about their closing times. I would not recommend using this garage, especially if you need flexibility and clear communication about operating hours. There are other garages in the area that are more reliable and don't leave you stranded.

NEVER PATK HERE! There is only ONE sign on the wall no one pays attention to. You can't leave your car after 9:15p or they will lock the garage and force you to park overnight. You call the number and no one will answer! Z E R O S T A R

parked here to meet friends for dinner across the street at wildseed. dinner was excellent. came back to garage, paid my bill, and drive up the ramp to find I am locked in. no person to let me out. car stuck there overnight. my friend had to come get me, she lent me her car so I could get home, and had to drive back early the next morning to get my car out. waste of time and gas. who closes a garage on a sat night so early?!?! never parking here again

Top of the 24hour parking fee of $30. No one answers the damn phone number that is printed on the ticket!! Says to email them? WTF? I can understand maybe closing your garage at a certain time, to prevent any more cars coming in, but you should be able to pay your fee and exit 24/7 at any garage. Very inconvenient and irritating and just overall a hassle.

Why the hell does this place close so early? We were locked out and had to uber home. Absolutely ridiculous to close at 9:15, must be trying to get that $30 overnight fee.

One unnoticeable sign that the garage closes at 9:15pm. There was an intercom that said to press if the garage is locked and no one answered, same with the phone number. Stuck ubering home and expecting overnight charge tomorrow.. why would a garage close so early next to all these restaurants and bars?? On a Friday night??

Similar to other reviews, there are no clear signs indicating that the garage closes at night and you will be unable to get your car until the next morning. My friends and I had to Uber back to the East Bay, after we stayed on Sunday night until 8:30, not realizing the garage closed exactly at 8:00 pm. There was no number to call, only an email. More signs need to be posted, as we're definitely not the only ones who have made this mistake.

Great location to get to your doctor, a little pricey but worth it instead of driving all over trying to find meter parking.

Was locked in at 10pm on a Sunday. I live in San Jose and had to take a Lyft back home. Luckily my friend from work lives in SF and can drive my car down to work for me instead of taking the company shuttle.

They had no emergency numbers and the sign that says the garage is locked is not evident at all.
