Orediggers Tame the Lions

Montana Tech runs past Amrose University 77-41

BUTTE, Mont.- The Orediggers use their entire roster to down the Lions of Ambrose University 77-41. Montana Tech had 15 ladies in the official scorebook, all 15 had time in the game, and 12 of those 15 scored.

It truly was a whole team effort.

The starting five got the ball rolling in the right direction, with incredible effort from the opening whistle. Ally Cleverly, Brooklynn Hankwitz, Liv Wangerin, Aubrie Rademacher, and Soda Rice accounted for 42 of the Oredigger's 77 points, they also were responsible for a full half of the Diggs total rebounds (23 of 46). Hankwitz led the starting five in scoring with 14 points, Wangerin and Rademacher each had nine. Aubrie pulled down a team-leading 10 rebounds, one night after she pulled down a career-high 17 against Lakeland.

Brooklyn was not the lone Oredigger in double digits, in fact, she was not the leading scorer, that title goes to Kia Wasson. The sophomore from Whitewater put up 17 points in 15 minutes, on 6-10 shooting. Kia was 5-8 from the 3-point line and didn't miss a shot in the 3rd quarter.

Challis Westwater had a strong game in the post, finishing with seven points to go along with seven rebounds.

As a team, the Orediggers shot 37% for the game, including an impressive 41% from the arc. They were much better from the foul line tonight as well going 15-21.

The Lions were led by Tegan McArthur and Audrey Dayrit who each finished with nine points.

Montana Tech (9-4) will start Frontier Conference play one week from Saturday (January 6th) as the Battlin' Bears of Rocky Mountain College will be in town, women will tip-off at 2pm, and men to follow at 4pm.
