Diggers In the Community
The Montana Tech Orediggers are more than just student-athletes around campus and the community. Each student-athlete takes time out of their busy school and practice schedule to help local organizations and engage area youth. From reading to elementary school children to working at food banks or showing up at community events, the Orediggers are proud to take part in helping the community of Butte. Student-athletes also lend a helping hand to many campus groups and organizations. To be an Oredigger means excellence, pride, dedication and leadership. By helping in the community embodies what it means to be an Oredigger.

Every year, the Orediggers put in over 800 hours of community service between the six sports and as individual student-athletes. Some of the activities include: Big Brothers Big Sisters, Dress a Child (United Way and Salvation Army), Handing Out School Supply, Punt, Pass & Kick, Walk to School Day, Elementary School Pizza Parties, Cans for Fans Food Drive, Special Olympics, Thompson Food Drive, and Read for Peace.
