Jacob Sundberg

Jacob Sundberg was hired on September 9th, 2021 to coach the Oredigger men’s and women’s sprints, jumps, hurdles, and throws event groups.

Sundberg was previously the Head Track & Field/Cross Country Coach at St. Charles Community College (Mo.) where he started the program in the spring of 2019. At St. Charles CC, Sundberg coached three First-Team All-Americans, including the school’s first national champion in any sport, and seven All-Region performers in three seasons.

Prior to St. Charles CC, Sundberg had a brief stint at Lake Forest College (Ill.) as the Assistant Cross Country/Track Coach where he coached the school’s first National Qualifier and contributed to the highest conference championship team finishes in program history on both the men’s and women’s side.

Before coaching specifically Track & Field, Sundberg held positions in Sports Performance/Strength & Conditioning at Northwestern University, University of Illinois-Chicago, and Wisconsin Lutheran College.

Sundberg was a four-year letterman for Carroll University (Wis.) where he ran Cross Country and Track & Field. Sundberg was a perennial scorer for the Pioneers at the Midwest Conference Championships where he was all-conference seven times – three consecutive years in cross country (including a conference title in 2015), and the 3,000m Steeplechase, plus one conference title on the Distance Medley Relay.

Sundberg graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Carroll University (Wis.) in 2016 and completed his master’s degree in Exercise Physiology with an emphasis in Strength & Conditioning also from Carroll University in 2017.
