Best Ice Cream Place Near Buffalo Grove: Readers Pick

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — We asked Buffalo Grove Patch readers this week to give us their best ice cream place recommendations. And the results on your favorite spots are in just in time for National Ice Cream Day on Sunday.

It was a close call, but Culver's beat out Dairy Queen. Oberweis Ice Cream and Dairy Store (Arlington Heights) was next in total votes of our reader's poll that ran last Friday through Thursday.

Culver's, located at 450 McHenry Road, Buffalo Grove, is owned and operated by Kevin Weasler. Based in Wisconsin, the company now has more than 740 locations in the United States.

Readers taking our poll raved about the flavors, variety of mix-ins and creaminess of the ice cream at Culver's.

"The creaminess of the custard, the different flavors available, the combinations. Just amazing," wrote one reader.

Another reader said, "The ice cream at Culver's is so smooth."
