LCDOT has identified Arlington Heights Road as a pavement reconstruction project in the Lake County Transportation Improvement Program. The pavement condition between IL Route 83 and Lake Cook Road has reached the end of its service life and needs to be replaced, according to a news release.

LCDOT called the project an opportunity to make safety and operational improvements to the corridor such as adding turn lanes where they are warranted or to complete sidewalk gaps. There are no plans to widen Arlington Heights Road as a part of this pavement replacement project. The project will use motor fuel tax funds to reconstruct the roadway within the project limits.

This project is in the planning stages to refine the preferred alternative and continue stakeholder coordination. A project letting date is targeted for spring 2024.
