Night Classes at All JJC Locations Canceled Due to Power Outages

Outages have been reported in Shorewood, Channahon and Joliet.

Power outages have left night classes canceled at all Joliet Junior College locations. Several outages have been reported in Joliet, Shorewood and Channahon, according to ComEd.

The ComEd Outage Map indicates that power could be off until as late at 11 p.m. in some areas, while in others it could be turned on around 8 p.m. or earlier.

According to Joliet Junior College, classes are canceled at all JJC locations due to the power outage, which is affecting all JJC phone and web access, as well as electrical power at the Main Campus. Classes will resume Tuesday, June 21.

The Joliet Weather Center says a strong thunderstorm with small hail and winds up to 50 mph went through the Joliet area at around 2 p.m. The Center says there have been some reports of small trees down and localized power outages.
