$25K Reward Offered in Fatal New Carrollton Shooting

Investigators say the shooting was not a random act; Prince George's County Police are leading the investigation.

Investigators say a deadly shooting in New Carrollton was not a random act, and a reward is being offered for leads in the case.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating the homicide. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered in the case.

The New Carrollton Police Department was called to the 5400 block of 85th Avenue about 2:45 a.m. Tuesday on a report of a man lying outside. Officers found the man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

There have been several fatal shootings already this month in the county. Monday night police went door to door in Landover Hills in hopes of turning up fresh leads in that homicide.

Detectives are working to identify a motive and suspects in the New Carrollton shooting.

Police say they will release the victim’s name once his family has been notified.
