GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Camden County residents will have the chance to adopt pets while attending a socially-distanced car show later this month.

Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center hosts its inaugural “Motor Show, Wag Your Wheels,” at the Voorhees Town Center May 15, county officials announced on Wednesday.

The event will feature animals for prospective adopters to meet, a wide array of vehicles and vendors, live music, raffles, family fun, and plenty of shopping opportunities.

“This is a great opportunity to get outside and support the adoption center while taking part in the festivities,” Camden County Commissioner Jonathan Young said. “Even throughout the pandemic our team has continued to host virtual and limited in-person events to support the center’s mission and the animals we care for. We are incredibly appreciative of the community’s continued support, ensuring that we can find displaced animals their forever homes.”

Registration is required for vehicles looking to take part in the festivities. Entrance to the event for spectators is by donation. The Voorhees Town Center is located at 2140 Voorhees Town Center in Voorhees, at the site of the former Echelon Mall. More information can be found at www.homewardboundnj.org.

All money raised through the event will go directly towards finding abused, neglected and forgotten animals their well-deserved, happily ever afters.

Formerly the Camden County Animal Shelter, Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center serves more than 5,000 abused, homeless and neglected animals annually. It offers low cost vaccinations for owned pets, spay/neuter surgeries for community cats, and works with local county officials to ensure the health and safety of homeless and feral companion animals.
