Man Killed, 1 Injured In Shooting At NYC Park: NYPD

NEW YORK CITY — One man was shot and killed and another was injured inside a New York City park Friday morning, police said.

The incident happened at Tompkins Square Park in the East Village around 9:50 a.m., police said.

Officers who responded to the scene found a 74-year-old man who was shot in the torso and a 44-year-old man who was also shot in the torso, police said.

Both men were taken to a local hospital, where the 74-year-old man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead, police said.

The 44-year-old victim is listed in stable condition.

No arrests have been made, and an investigation remains ongoing, police said.
