Rye Women's Rugby Takes 2nd in Nationals

Rye's 'Old Blue' women finish 2nd in the country in their first season together.

Old Blue Women’s rugby, a brand new team based in Rye, NY, placed 2nd in their first season of play together as a team. An offshoot of the Old Blue Men’s program, they recently expanded their club to include women.

Most of the women players are high school and college aged, and recently returned from the Northeast championship in Seattle after taking 2nd place in the Women’s National Championship.

Under the direction of coaches Billy Nicholas and Gary Heavner, the goal of the team is to provide opportunities for elite level play for up and coming high school and college players.
