England fans have hailed Jordan Pickford's 's***housery masterclass' as he was spotted distracting Switzerland players during the penalty shoot-out victory.

The Three Lions reached the semi-finals of Euro 2024 after a 5-3 shoot-out victory, with Everton keeper Pickford making the only save from Manchester City's Manuel Akanji.

During the shootout, Pickford was up to his usual penalty shoot-out antics, with referee Daniele Orsato having to go over and speak to him on more than one occasion.

One distracting tactic he had in his locker was pulling faces towards the penalty takers, with cameras getting a close up on him just before Fabian Schar scored his penalty.

England fans loved his tactics, with one writing: 'The s***housery from Pickford is next level.'

A Newcastle and England fan echoed that comment, writing: 'As much as I dislike Pickford, got to love his s***housery when he is on your side.'

A third person described his facial expressions as a 's***housery masterclass'.

Meanwhile, a number of other fans posted laughing emojis following the close-up of his face while he attempted to distract Schar before the defender's penalty.

One wrote: 'Pickford was doing some face gestures to distract Schar, checking whether ref is aware lol.'

Another England fan posted: 'Why does Pickford always do the maddest things with his face.'

While one fan called for a Twitter page to be dedicated to Pickford's face.

@TomReilly101 replied to a picture of his face pulling, with the post: 'Hang it in the Louvre.'

England fans though were delighted that his penalty sealed the victory after a tense clash with Switzerland, as one fan commented: 'Well done Pickford. England's penalty hero again.'

One factor which perhaps contributed to the win, was that Pickford did his homework as his water bottle had a list of Switzerland players and where they usually place their penalties.

Pickford guessed right with Akanji, who struck a poor penalty which the goalkeeper was able to take advantage of.

England were perfect from the spot meanwhile, as Cole Palmer, Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka, Ivan Toney and Trent Alexander-Arnold left Yann Sommer no chance with their spot-kicks.
