Biddy’s, a popular and growing family-owned restaurant serving wings and burgers, is still coming to Forsyth. Work has finally begun on the former Georgia Bob’s location and co-owner Ethan Henning said they hope to open in the fall.
They bought the location on East Johnston Street from Otis Ingram last August and hoped to open this summer. But Henning said they ran into some contractor issues and so were late beginning renovations.
Biddy’s already has locations in downtown Macon and Covington. Henning had told the Reporter that they’ve been trying to find a location in Forsyth for a long time, but that nothing came together until last summer.
“It’s God’s timing,” said Henning. “We are super excited to have that space and to own that building so we can renovate it and make it ours.”
“A lot of stuff will look a lot different than it does now,” said Henning.
Henning’s Macon location is across from Atrium Hospital.
Henning said the most popular items at their restaurants are chicken dinners, wings and chicken tender sandwiches. He said their existing two restaurants are quick-serve, but the Forsyth location will be the first with a real drive-thru and they hope to become even faster.
Henning and his wife have 2 kids.
They currently live in Jackson but he said they hope to move to Monroe County. Henning said their roots are in Butts and Henry counties and it seems all of their friends are moving or trying to move to Monroe County.
“All of our friends seem to be looking for property in Monroe County,” said Henning. “Monroe County schools are great.”
Henning said Forsyth businessman Wes Cone is a friend who’s been asking him to open in Forsyth.
For his part, Ingram said he’s excited to be attracting Biddy’s to Forsyth.
“I am happy to bring a quality restaurant operator/family business to our community,” said Ingram. “Ethan is a hard-working, energetic young man who will be the owner/operator. I know he is going to do well here! He has lots of new ideas I have wanted implemented here for a long time.”
