A High Falls woman’s horse died the night of June 9 when it got spooked and tangled up in a fence.

Kaylin Zimmerle of 3289B High Falls Road was at her first responder job around 2 a.m. when neighbors heard the horse wheezing and found him stuck in the fence. The neighbors, friends of Zimmerle’s, drove their car to the horse’s location to try to help him. But they were unable to free him. They called Zimmerle to let her know what had happening, noting it didn’t look good for the horse. When the neighbors were turning around to return home, the driver unknowingly struck a small post, cracking the taillight lens and leaving pieces of it in the ground.
