The Reporter will host a debate for the five candidates for District 4 county commissioner at the brand-new High Falls Fire Station at 6 p.m. on Sept. 30.
An unprecedented five candidates qualified to run for the remaining two years on the seat currently held by commissioner George Emami.
They are Al Turner, David Hunter, Larry Stewart, Mark d’Agonisto and Doug Williams. Early voting starts on Oct. 15. The nonpartisan election is on Nov. 5. If no candidate gets more than 50 percent, a runoff is expected on Dec. 3. The winner will take office immediately. Emami resigned effective upon the election, saying that personal attacks have hurt his ability to run his businesses. The Reporter has already done stories on all five candidates.
