Barry Hertz Globe and Mail Jude can barely control his ain’t-I-a-stinker glee. Yet it all works, with its many preoccupations, culminating in an epic, wild ride whose presumed destination is hell itself. Apr 18, 2024 Full Review Richard Whittaker Austin Chronicle Jude drops the sometimes overly broad comedy of the first two hours for something more acerbic, angry, and intriguing. Rated: 3/5 Apr 4, 2024 Full Review Philip De Semlyen Time Out Take a wild road trip through late capitalism with this irreverent, audacious Romanian satire. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 4/5 Jul 22, 2024 Full Review Filipe Freitas Always Good Movies Jude evokes the social realism of Jim Jarmusch and Jean-Luc Godard - creative in form, tenacious in the storytelling - and infuses a caustic humor that, cutting sharper than a knife, is often quite delicious. Rated: 4.5/5 Jul 8, 2024 Full Review Ray Pride Newcity Radu Jude elongates and miniaturizes his questing, savage worldview to antagonizing, mesmerizing effect... exasperating and thril.ing canvas... Julio Manuel D 2h 43m. !!!?? This surprising modernity!!!, of banalities and vulgarity. True, I wanted to meet her.... Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/06/24 Full Review Alec B I continue to be impressed by Radu Jude's ability to take concepts that should be tiresome (here an almost shapeless extended critique if modern life in Romania that includes remixed footage of a movie from the early 80s) and makes them totally engaging and fascinating. Jude doesn't shy away from showing the cringe and ugliness of the characters. None of this feels like approved monoculture discourse and everything feels raw and urgent. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/06/24 Full Review Flavio S A unique movie experience, energetic, daring and thought-provoking. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/05/24 Full Review avner k A good movie loses its focus and indulgently stretches by one hour. There was much to enjoy, but in the end, I felt abused. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/27/24 Full Review Sergiu A A movie without a begining or end. Nothing really happened. Half of the screentime it was the main actor in her car driving, chewing gum and swearing other drivers. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/14/24 Full Review David M I thought it was good but it wasn't for me. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews
