Peter Keough Boston Globe Like Val Kilmer in "Val," [Selma Blair] puts all vanity aside and lets the world see the suffering, indomitable person she has become. Rated: 3.5/4 Nov 2, 2021 Full Review Brian Lowry CNN.com It's an intense experience, one whose focus is undeniably stirring but which leaves certain aspects of Blair's life and resume somewhat underdeveloped. Oct 15, 2021 Full Review Christy Lemire RogerEbert.com It's impossible to watch Introducing, Selma Blair and not feel deeply moved. Rated: 3/4 Oct 15, 2021 Full Review Erica Richards InSession Film Humbling, vulnerable, tragic, and sometimes funny... Rated: B Jul 8, 2024 Full Review Danilo Castro Next Best Picture In one memorable scene, Blair says that she wants the documentary to be as dramatic as she is. It's a testament to her tenacious spirit and willingness to work with director Rachel Fleit that she (mostly) gets her wish. Rated: 7/10 May 17, 2022 Full Review Joel Copling Spectrum Culture The movie is an effective empathy machine, placing us in any given moment directly in Blair’s headspace. Rated: 3.5/5 Mar 8, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

al r Not an easy watch. She's a very dramatic, typical actress type, which is fine, but I had to skip on through, from beginning to middle to end in order to catch the drift of her progress. Her emotions are all over the place, laughing it up then crying in intense agony, and then back to laughing. Again, there's nothing inherently wrong with being histrionic, and I felt relief that she was able to improve, but bottom line, this is not an entertaining documentary. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/23/24 Full Review Lorenzo G Honestly. Wack. Fluff fluff fluff Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/24/23 Full Review Audience Member very interesting and insightful Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Introducing Selma Blair is a tough watch, but one that partly works and occassionly feels a little forced on the emotional department.
