Commedia molto interessante che riesce a sfruttare un buon livello di originalità e che soprattutto ha il merito di porre al centro di tutta una sempre meravigliosa Anne Hathaway, incredibile ed estremamente versatile attrice. La sceneggiatura alterna momenti e dialoghi di buona qualità ad altri dove invece il teen appetite prende troppo il sopravvento. Sorprende positivamente lo sviluppo delle dinamiche familiari che riesce a non essere banale e a risultare discretamente interessante pur dovendo privilegiare il teen drama. La fase intermedia del film, con il tour europeo della band è forse la meno credibile e peggio sviluppata del film cosi come l'attore principale la cui differenza con la controparte femminile è imbarazzante.
