Inside Jorja Smith’s Telfar Shopper

British Vogue presents ‘In The Bag’ with Jorja Smith. The English singer-songwriter reveals her daily essentials, as we take a look inside Jorja Smith’s Telfar bag. Among Jorja’s everyday essentials is not one but two passports: 'You never know when you need to catch a flight.’ Other must-haves include a book (which she’s yet to read, but has taken pride of place in her bag since January), a top-secret fragrance and some in-ear monitors. ‘I think my bag says to me that I’m organised, I’m ready to go, I’m ready for anything and I protect my voice.’ Watch the full episode of British Vogue’s ‘In The Bag’ as Jorja Smith gives us a sneak peek inside her shopper.

Hi, British Vogue.

I'm Jorja Smith, and this is what's in my bag.

[upbeat music]

First is a candle.

This one's burnt out.

The smell is....

I'm really bad at describing things.

[Jorja laughs]

It smells like home.

Got a lighter

because I can't light my candle without a lighter.

If I come to hotels, you know when you ask them,

Oh, hey, can I have a lighter,

though I've not got any

or they take forever to bring it up.

And I like to light this as soon as I get in.

Because I sing, right, you got protect your voice.

So I have these two things that I bring everywhere with me.

It's like a throat syrup, and you can make it into a tea.

So you can just add hot water or just back it,

and then vocal spray.

So on the topic of singing,

I never actually carry headphones with me.

I don't like headphones.

I've got in-ears.

And this is good to have in case someone's like,

Jorja, can you come outta my show?

Got them.

I didn't put some on.

I remember I went perfume shopping to like get a new scent

and I bought like two.

I thought this was gonna be like my night time smell,

but it's turned into every day.

You can't see the name of it.

And I'm not telling you what it's called,

but it's my favorite.

The smell is amazing.

Razors 'cause you never know when you need to do that

and shave your legs and shave your armpits if you want.

So I've always got loads of razors on me.

Men's ones as well.

I've got two.

My passport, my man's passport,

so he can't leave the country without me.

I'm joking.

It's mine.

I've just got two passports.

One of them is really full,

and I've always got them in my bag

'cause you never know when you need to catch a flight.

My phone, this is my other phone, things get too much.

So I have this one and only a few people have the number,

but I don't tell them when it's on,

so I can just TikTok away.

[keys jangling]

I've always got loads of keys on me.

My mom makes jewelry in it, and she makes me key rings.

It says, I ain't no fairytale chick.

That's from the second song I ever dropped

called A Prince.

My water bottle.

Well, it's not a bottle, it's a...

What do you call this?

Cup with a straw.

It's a Starbucks one.

I used to work at Starbucks,

and I went to my old Starbucks I worked in.

I was like, Have you got this one?

It says, Do you have?

And she didn't have it, and she ordered it to me.

And my bag always will have a massive amount of lip balms

or lip glosses at the bottom of them.

I constantly change a lip balm

even though I should just stick to one.

I dunno why I do that.

The Fenty Beauty lip scrub is really good.

Pillow spray to make things feel like home

and just be able to sleep.

I always spray this on my pillows

and this one, it smells of lavender.

So I always have a book with me.

Everything I know about Love by Dolly Alderton

I haven't read it yet, it's been in my bag since January.

Sometimes like I'll read all the time and like nonstop.

And then I'll go through moments like this

where I'm just carrying a book,

a hairbrush with wings and wings.

You know what it does?

So I've got this microfiber towel situation.

I've constantly got this on my head.

A scalp oil.

This one's by Cyndia Harvey.

She's done my hair before.

She's great.

Little Things Rizla, a little plug.

You know what, I don't even smoke

but someone always wants some Rizla, so why not have it?

And I can be like, Here, my Rizla.

My song Little Things, I recorded actually in London.

It wasn't a party when I recorded it,

but the vibe felt like that.

So little things that get me high,

dunno what you're putting in that.

I got cash 'cause you never know

when you need to pay in cash.

Some whitening strips.

Hm, someone probably say these aren't good for you.

Oh, and have another lighter in my bag

for when someone steals that lighter.

[upbeat music]

So I think my bag says to me that I'm organized,

I'm ready to go.

I'm ready for anything.

I protect my voice,

and it looks like the one thing I forgot is a phone charger.

So am I that organized?

Who knows?

Thanks for watching.

I'm Jorja Smith, and this was what was in my bag.
