Box Score Helena, Mont.- Montana Tech volleyball fell, 21-25, 26-28, 25-23, 19-25 Wednesday night to rival Carroll College. With the lost Tech falls to 7-9, 2-2 on the season while Carroll improves to 12-7, 4-1.

Korey Krumm led the way for the Diggers with 13 kills, four digs and two blocks. Setter Makenzie Bauck contributed with a season-high 31 assists.

In the first set it was all Carroll as they never trailed. Tech was able to tie up the score at 9-9 but that was as close as they would get. The Saints finished off the set on a 6-1 run to earn the win.

The second set was the battle of the rallies as both teams went back and forth on the score board. Carroll took a 16-13 lead but that was quickly wiped away as Tech rallied to go up 17-16. The Saints would return the favor with a 6-0 run to go up by five. The Diggers fought back but it was too late as CC held on for the 28-26.

The third stanza started the same way the second finished with both squads exchanging blows. With the score knotted at three all, Carroll used a 3-0 run to take the 6-3 advantage. Following key substitutions by head coach Brian Solomon, Tech regained their composure and rallied to a 10-9 lead forcing a Saints' timeout. The Digger defense clicked and made key digs allowing the offense to shine giving Tech an 18-14 lead. However the Fighting Saints used a rally of their own to tie up the contest at 23. This did not phase the Diggers as they scored two crucial points to take the 25-23 victory to extend the match.

The Saints came out marching in the fourth set taking a 12-8 lead. Following a Tech timeout, the Diggers regrouped to cut the lead to one at 13-12. Carroll fought right back and extended their lead to seven at 19-12. The Fighting Saints continued to roll to take the 25-19 victory.
