Montana Tech Cruise to an 81-63 Win Over Western

Orediggers Take Down the Dogs in Dillon

DILLON, Mont.- Make it four wins in a row, and another win in convincing fashion, as the Orediggers take down the Bulldogs 81-63. This is the second win for the Orediggers over Western so far this season, with one more regular season matchup coming up on February 22nd, also in Dillon.

Team basketball is once again the tale of the tape, as four of the Oredigger's starting five finished with double digits scoring. Montana Tech shot 54% from the floor, and 46% from the 3-point line in the win. The Orediggers out-rebounded the Bulldogs 40-28, behind Hayden Diekhans 14 boards, and the other big discrepancy in the scorebook was Montana Tech had double the number of assists (16-8).

Team basketball.

Senior Caleb Bellach led the Orediggers with 21 points on a blistering 8-9 shooting, Belly also had five assits. Michael Ure was next with 18 points, nine rebounds, and three steals. Hayden Diekhans put up 11 points and pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds. Chrishon Dixon was the fourth starter to break into double digits with 10 points, he also tallied five assists.

Montana Western (11-11, 4-5) had three players in double figures, they were led by Quincy Taylor with 17 points, Michael Haverfield with 15, and Jalyn Stepney with 11.

The first-place Orediggers are back at home on Thursday night for a 7:00 PM rematch with the Argos of the University of Providence.
