Open Enrollment in another Employer's Plan

Depending on the effective date of the coverage change, certain changes can be made to your insurance benefits when there is an Open Enrollment with another employer’s plan that results in a change in benefits for you, your spouse, or your dependent children.

  • If the effective date of the coverage is a date other than January 1, you can make certain corresponding changes to your insurance benefits based on this open enrollment event.
  • If the effective date of the coverage is January 1, you must make your enrollment elections during SEGIP’s open enrollment period. If you do not make your enrollment elections during SEGIP’s open enrollment period, then your next opportunity will be the next SEGIP open enrollment period or upon a qualifying life event.
